More on Confidence :)

humanitarian-aidGood Morning and Happy Tuesday!

One more time everyone… the image in yesterday’s blog was a JOKE. I sure hope that it didn’t provoke all of you good people to go putting everyone down yesterday! :)

I believe as Christians, we are to use our confidence to build others up! This is why it is so important for each of us to settle the issues of our own neediness! As long as we are craving the approval of our peers, we will never be able to recognize the real needs of others.

As I mentioned yesterday, people rally to the person who knows who they are, knows where they are going… and moves into everyday with the CONFIDENCE that they are going to make it there! Biblical confidence is found in close proximity to the Lord! It is found in the completeness of knowing that God LOVES us… even when we are unlovable to the whole rest of the world.

To expound on yesterdays thoughts let us consider how others benefit from our confidence. Only when our identity is solid, are we able to focus our energies on helping others.

Check out these verses from Philippians 2:3-4 “Don’t be selfish; don’t live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others better than yourself. Don’t think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what they are doing.”

That kind of selfless living can only come through confident people… who are NOT LIVING TO MAKE A GOOD IMPRESSION ON OTHERS. So, being CONFIDENT does make us attractive! And the attraction is a blessing to us and to everyone else!

Have another super day you guys! Chat with you later! :)

I had an awesome opportunity to try "Philippians 2:3-4" out yesterday. It was a great opportunity to pay attention to this, being that I didn't know a soul at my new school. I found that simply introducing myself and asking other students what classes they were taking and giving them an encouraging word, went a long, long way in many aspects. 1) It broke that first day ice. 2) It started conversation, resulting in an intrest in one anothers interests. 3) Networking. 4) Good fellowship. 5) An opportunity to find out if they knew Jesus (all did). Through these five aspects alone, it is sure said that, I have made new friends. But more than that, I found fellow comrades in the army for Christ!

I love teaching. It is with my students I learn to be more humble each day and to just be who God created me to be. There is no fakeness about me with them. It is showing more with adults. There are times I have a hard time with adults, so I ask God to continue to help to just be myself with all people.

I'm so glad you wrote these two posts. I think there was a study done on body language and how 90% of what we convey to the world is done without words. Even pickup artists that work the bar scene will tell you that the best way to meet new people is to walk into a room and convey confidence through good posture and facial expressions. Did Jesus draw people to him with confidence and good body language?
