Happy Wednesday Friends!
Guess what?? This is your long lost pal Chuck… remember me? I’m so sorry for bailing out on you good people like that… just under quite a bit of pressure this past week and didn’t want to bring the pressure into your lives. So Jonathan Woodard blogged for me and did an amazing job in my absence! Thank you Jonathan… I sincerely ask the Lord to bless you for this help!
Ok so I’m feeling a little rusty this morning… hmmm, let’s see… what shall I write about?
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Have you ever felt all alone before? Ever gone through times when you just couldn’t seem to figure out why all the tribulation? Ever felt as if even God had walked out and left you to the uncertain tides of chance and fate? So often life can get confusing… and no matter how hard we try to come up with adequate explanations, we are left scratching our heads.
In times like these, the devil comes like a little red bird on our shoulders… he whispers lies in our ears… he taunts us and tells us that God doesn’t like us anymore.
According to Isaiah 59:2, the only thing that drives a wedge between God and humans is SIN. And we have ALL sinned… so Jesus came into the earth, lived a perfect, sinless life… was crucified to satisfy the full penalty for our sins… and through his blood sacrifice we who were FAR AWAY have been BROUGHT NEAR to God! (Ephesians 2:13)
Live a LIFE of daily consecration to the Lord. Spend quality time with Him in prayer every morning. Like the prophet Daniel, make this part of your DAILY routine! Start out each day bowing before him: ask God to deal with you about your own sins, ask for his forgiveness and mercy, ask for the grace you need to live victoriously… and have the FAITH to believe that he LOVES YOU no matter how perfect or imperfect you are at this very moment.
And then, in times of LONLINESS Romans 8:35-39 sets us FREE! It is here in these verses that we learn just how much GOD LOVES US! We are his CHILDREN… and he is the BEST FATHER EVER! No matter what the voices are telling us… God is not like people. He is kind and patient, and forgiving and merciful, and willing to pay ANY PRICE to be NEAR TO US! He loves us more than we can ever love him! So let’s rest in this!
Thoughts about Romans 8:35-39
- Can ANYTHING separate us from Christ’s love?
- Does it mean that he no longer loves us if we have trouble… and all those other things?
- NO! In fact, DESPITE all these things…OVERWHELMING VICTORY is ours through Christ, who LOVES US!
- I am convinced that NOTHING can ever separate us from God’s love!
- Not even all the powers of hell!
- Nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord!
So there it is friends… you are NOT ALONE today… God is with you and he has promised that he will never leave you or forsake you. Cling to this revelation today… and everyday, no matter what you face in this life. I pray todays blog adds tremendous value to your amazing lives! God bless you all!!
