Something Is Beeping In This Room!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

There is an irritating little beep somewhere in this room and I cant find it! Every 10 seconds… BEEP… BEEEP… BEEEEEEEEEEP! I turned on some music and I can still hear it. This has to be an attack from the Devil on my prayer and blogging time. Please MAKE IT STOP! Ok… focus chuck… concentrate… isolate the beep and mute it… there is no longer a beep in the room!

Now that’s better… it’s become so quiet in here lalala lalalaaaaa, now that the beep is GONE! Ok… this is not working! Is it getting LOUDER? Sounds like it’s coming from the chinchilla cage! Is Heaven’s chinchilla BEEPING AT ME! Ok, I’ll be right back… I can’t blog until I go to the junk drawer, get the HAMMER and bring this BEEPING menace to justice.

(returning to the computer with a sense of defeat) After 10 minutes of sniffing and searching… I give up! Here I sit with my earphones and my music BOOMING… and still, every few moments and a faint bee-ee-eep. It’s too cold to go outside this morning… and everyone else is sleeping. This feels like something out of Fantasia… it’s like the leaking faucet of a metal sink on a long, dark, windless night!

Ok… I’m really getting it together now… I’m gonna be bigger than this! I will succeed no MATTER HOW MUCH YOU BEEP! (whispering into the dark with a voice of frustration) And you just wait, you nagging little beep… soon your batteries will run out and I will still be here! HAHAHAHA!!!! (becoming slightly unstable) LOL

The beep reminds me of something I read in the book of Mark earlier. In chapter 5, there was a guy named Jairus whose daughter was deathly ill. He asked Jesus to come heal his daughter, and on the way there, messengers arrived with news that the girl had died. Verse 36 says, “But Jesus IGNORED their comments and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just trust me!”

In order to walk this life of faith successfully, we also need to be able to IGNORE the faithless comments of others. Just like this nagging beep somewhere in my family room, we must learn to ignore all those thoughts and comments that beep in the room of our minds every single day! We must learn to turn God’s word and God’s amazing promises up so loudly, that the beeps can go on forever without having a single ounce of damaging affect on us! This is not a license for rudeness… it’s a call to police our ears and protect our minds! Because we will become whatever we are listening to and focusing upon!

Don’t be afraid… Just trust Jesus… and everything will work out just FINE! As the story continued, Jesus walked into the room of Jairus’s daughter, took her by the hand and said to her, “Get up, little girl.” And the girl, who was 12 years old, immediately stood up and walked around! (vs. 41-42)

I bet Jairus was happy Jesus didn’t get distracted by the faithless beeping of the messengers… that Jesus knew what he believed, and his FAITH was far more substantial than any other force in that village!

I pray your faith soars with todays blog… that you rise far above the beeping things in your own room… that you move those mountains, and take hold of God’s promises for your life! Chat with you all later… have a SUPER DAY!
