Charles Thomas Studd, (1860-1931) is remembered both as a cricketer and missionary. As a cricketer he played for England in the famous 1882 match won by Australia which was the origins of Ashes. As a British Protestant Christian missionary to China he was part of the Cambridge Seven, and later was responsible for setting up the Heart of Africa Mission which became the Worldwide Evangelization Crusade (now WEC International).
Studd made one of the most famous statements on evangelism to ever come our of a persons mouth: “Some wish to live within the sound of church or chapel bell; I want to run a RESCUE SHOP within a yard of hell!”
Mark 2:15-17 15 Later, Levi invited Jesus and his disciples to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners. (There were many people OF THIS KIND among Jesus’ followers.) 16 But when the teachers of religious law who were Pharisees saw him eating with tax collectors and other sinners, they asked his disciples, “Why does he eat with such scum?” 17 When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor-SICK PEOPLE do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
I see this as part of the reason so many Christians are bored with their religion these days. Too many of us enter into relationship with God and it’s the greatest day of our history… and we go into a church, shut the doors tightly behind us… hoping to spend the rest of our lives in a bubble of HEALTHY people. Forgetting so quickly where we came from, we soon despise all the rest of the SICK PEOPLE in our world. And life for us becomes nothing more than aiming to get healthier than healthy, as we spend our days bragging over who is the healthiest of all.
Jesus taught his followers to search for SICK PEOPLE… to love them and serve them and HEAL THEM! He modeled this with his life… dissing the debaters to live among the sick! While the teachers of the law sought to argue over the legalities of Jesus actions… Jesus kept on seeking for SICK PEOPLE… healing, saving, and delivering every last one of them!
Life is so much more fulfilling when we live sacrificially for the HEALING OF THE SICK PEOPLE. Look around, they are everywhere… and we are well able to give them LIFE.
Romans 10:14-15 “But HOW can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And HOW can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And HOW can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15 And HOW will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF MESSENGERS WHO BRING GOOD NEWS!”

Wow Chuck! My heart absolutely agrees with this blog. I have formed this habit of waking up, pour a cup of coffee, reading the word, praying, then reading your blogs. hahaha. No, it has not become my second bible but it is definitely from God. Anyways, let's get to it.
Someone once told me to treat everyone as though they have a need, because they do. But there's something that makes the sick people stand out from the rest. They break my heart. Almost as if the God inside of me is crying out for them through my very own flesh. My heart burns for sick people. I am not speaking just for the physically sick, but the spiritually sick as well. My spirit starts screaming at me to do something about it. My calling is discipleship. So the way I look at it is helping someone mold a healthy spiritual connection with God that forces the sickness to leave the current state of their relationship with God. One of my dreams and desires is to go to Northern Uganda, Africa and invite God to one of the darkest places on earth. To tell sick people "It's time to be healed." One day I will be there. But for right now, it's here, Virginia…America. I was chose for this.
WELL, THIS WILL BE THE THIRD TIME I HAVE TRIED TO GET MY COMMENT WRITTEN DOWN SO I GUESS I NEED TO REVISE IT AGAIN CAUSE NOTHING HAPPENS PER CHANCE.
I ENJOYED YOUR BLOG TODAY BECAUSE I FEEL THE LORD HAS ALLOWED ME TO GO THROUGH THE TRIALS IN MY LIFE SO THAT I CAN CARRY A MESSAGE OF HOPE TO THE SICK AND SUFFERING ADDICTS IN THE AREA. I WAS LEAD TO NEW HOPE DETOX FOR A MONDAY NIGHT MEETING MONTHES AGO AND WAS SO MOVED BY THE NEED FOR GODS WORD THAT I DON'T MISS A MONDAY NIGHT. I HAVE RECENTLY STARTED GOING TO MEETINGS ON MONDAY, TUESDAY AND THURSDAY AT VALLEY COMMUNITY SERVICE BOARD. THESE MEETINGS ARE HELD FOR PEOPLE IN DAY TREATMENT AND HAVE FOUND THAT I CAN CARRY A MESSAGE TO PEOPLE IN THESE TWO PLACES WHO OTHERWISE MAY NOT HEAR ABOUT GOD'S UNDYING LOVE FOR US AND HOW GOD CAN FORGIVE ANYONE IF THEY JUST COME TO HIM AND ASK. I AM A BABE IN CHRIST EVEN THOUGH I GREW UP IN CHURCH BUT THROUGH THE SICKNESS, THE ABUSE AND THE MADNESS I LIVED THROUGH, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I SEEK OUT THOSE WHO NEED GOD THE MOST AND ARE READY FOR A NEW WAY OF LIFE.
I THANK GOD FOR DELIVERING ME FROM THE HELL I CALLED MY LIFE AND PRAY THAT I CAN HELP LEAD OTHERS THROUGH SO THEY TOO CAN HAVE THE PEACE I HAVE FOUND IN JESUS CHRIST.
JUST LIKE A GOOD SPIRITUAL THROWDOWN TO MAKE EACH OF US REALIZE OUR CALLING..IT IS MY FIRST DAY BACK IN BLOG LAND AND I AM SOO EXCITED….HEALED BY HIS GRACE AND SPIRITUALLY TOUCHED BY HIS GLORY…WE DO NOT HAVE TO SEE TO FAR TO FIND THOSE OPPRESSED AND SHATTERED LIVES AND LOOK 10 FT CIRCLE AROUND OUR EVERYDAY EXISTANCE WE CAN FIND THOSE IN NEED I WILL OPEN MY HEART ANE MIND TO SEEK THOSE AND REACH OUT MY HANDS TO WARM AND COVER THEM WITH PRAYER AND BLESSINGS…MISSED YOU ALL WHILE I WAS HEALING MYSELF,THANKS FOR ALL THE PRAYERS,,PAM MYERS
