The Gentle Whisper in Our Cluttered Hearts

Happy Saturday Friends!

Blogging on the patio this morning… what a day! Last night we went to Coree’s senior dinner at the Joshua Wilton House in Harrisonburg VA. Free meal on the school… I suppose we paid for it through tuition… still a VERY nice touch! The company was amazing… food was too.

Today, we have friends coming from Lion of Judah Ministries in Blackstone, VA… they are leading worship at Destiny Family Center tomorrow morning… CAN’T WAIT! You should drive to the Shenandoah Valley for the weekend… there is still time… great place to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend!

Yesterday morning, I went to console a family that lost their 47 year old daughter in the night. It was unexpected and very painful for these folks. The exciting part of the story is that Lisa came to Destiny Family Center about two months ago and gave her heart to Jesus… and she was SO IMPACTED from that experience. Thank God Lisa didn’t leave this earth THREE months ago. God prepared her heart… and he REACHED her… just like he is working to reach so many others before they also depart this temporal physical world.

God has so many ways of reaching people…

“What a Father we have… making us homesick in many undetectable ways! He’s the gentle whisper in our cluttered hearts during those fleeting moments when we are brought to silence. Faintly, we can hear him drawing us to open our dusty Bibles! He’s the nagging coworker inviting us to church every Sunday! He’s that mysterious “feeling” deep in our bellies, telling us there has to be a better way! Yes, God is speaking to us all day long… just waiting for us to respond to him. Waiting for us to run out of other options and finally come to the realization that real life begins with him.” –Chapter 4 of my book

Today… we will meet people God has been working on… people he is right now preparing for eternity… one month before their departure, they will intersect with one of us!

Have a fun day everyone… I will chat with you later and HOPEFULLY SEE YOU TOMORROW! Do something fun with your Saturday… something beautiful!

  1. MY WORDS ARE FEW THIS GLORIOUS MORNING BUT I WANT TO THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING A BLESSING IN LISA'S LIFE AND IN MINE. I LOVE YOU ALL. I HAVE PEACE KNOWING SHE IS AMONG THE ANGELS TODAY. A SONG THAT HAS PLAYED OVER AND OVER IN MY HEAD AND RADIO SINCE YESTERDAY MORNING BY CHRIS TOMLIN "I WILL RISE" HAS SOMEHOW GIVEN ME A SENSE OF PEACE. IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD IT, CHECK IT OUT ON YOUTUBE. THANK YOU AGAIN.

  2. Good Morning to You and this beautiful day!

What a beautiful picture you have displayed here, wow! It inspires me as do so many of your photos to capture my own pieces of work in such a way as that.

You were such a blessing yesterday to Lisa’s family and to her friends and I want to personally thank you! We are all a picture of how the Church is to operate on this earth, all working together each one playing a part for one purpose in mind.

Lisa was a wonderful sweet lady and I was blessed to have known her.

The snipets from your book make me more anxious to read it. I sure hope it is finished soon!

This passage brings to mind how God not only speaks to us through other people but also how HE SPEAKS TO US for us to SPEAK TO OTHER PEOPLE AS WELL! Just like Lisa and how she came to DFC, one life, being obedient to the voice of God, hearing the call to invite, and being obedient to keep on keeping on.

The body of Christ also being obedient to the voice of God and without even a sermon preached, without a worship team, without a formal church service this woman LISA surrendered her life to Christ. She knew she wanted more to life. She came. She didn’t even know what it was she wanted but when asked she knew. WOW! That’s God working in all of us.

Thank you Pastor Chuck for teaching and preaching and raising up a powerful church body of “World Changers” and I personally can say I am thankful for what you have sown into me since I have known you.

God Bless and have a great day! We are heading out to do something fun today !!

  3. You girls made such a difference in Lisa’s life! As did Mark Brooks! I thank God for the privilege of Pastoring such a compassionate flock!

Hey Vickie… does this mean you guys will be at church tomorrow? I didn’t want anyone to miss out on a chance to vacation… I just secretly prayed for everyone to be able to come to church tomorrow no matter where else the wind carried them this weekend. =)

  4. What a beautiful day it is,I am so excited about tomarrow I feel it is a new beginning for God to do something new in us all! I am so ready for all the new people that are going to come, because of listening to the whisper in their clutered hearts! Those who come because of a nagging coworker. My God let the whisper work through the clutter! May all your servants be open to serve those new babies and help them experince God through love and open arms!Thats my prayer Pastor , Thanks for the inspiration this morning! I feel such a strong presence of God right now!

  5. Wow, Pastor Chuck,
Thanks for taking the time to just sit at His feet and listen…your book will impact and change the lives of many for His glory. Blessings on you and yours!

  6. Yes Pastor Chuck, We WILL be at DFC in the morning. It is now 1am and we are back in Stuarts Draft! Thanks for sharing that secret prayer with me. Please make sure you tell Shianne because she has been one grumpy little girl because we did not go away. I understand WHY now! Just picking:) We didn't want to miss church or bible college either really. We did spend the day away so girls are happy and all is well.

Nikki is disappointed that she is still hoarse though .

You know Betty Durando also played a huge roll in Lisa's life! Dave, Helen and Mary too as they covered us all in prayer. I called them several times and I know Betty did too.

This is the beauty of the church it really does not stop with just us and the names I mentioned. Jamie was the one who prayed with her and led her to the Lord. Michelle was the one who asked her if she knew the Lord. It's all of us, a team, a body, working together.

Yes, most definitely Mark and Laurie and Lisa R were the feet, the hands, and words of Christ to Lisa and her family.

She really liked DFC and Betty faithfully checked with her to see if she wanted a ride. She also loved to spend time with her grand baby and if she had that opportunity she took it.

    See you in the morning

  7. Wow!!!! You ladies are awesome!!!! I am praying for you all as you have lost someone special. I am uplifted by the impacted you all had on her life. It fills my heart with joy.
