I actually thought of Solomon while writing this blog... a man searching for the meaning of life in "everything under the sun"... and in his closing remarks he says, "Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man." (Ecclesiastes 12:13) Beautiful... thanks for sharing! Sure is a shame when you have all you can have here and not enjoy it . All one needs to do is look at Solomon's writings in Ecclesiastes (not a book that you want to study if you need a "pick-me-up", but is the Word of God for our doctrine, rebuke, correction, and instruction). Solomon had it all as well, yet he realized that, apart from Christ, all is vanity (even for those who are happy in their sins). "I have seen everything that is done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind." (Ecclesiastes 1:14) Amen. All one needs to do is look at Solomon's writings in Ecclesiastes (not a book that you want to study if you need a "pick-me-up", but is the Word of God for our doctrine, rebuke, correction, and instruction).
