God Answers Vacation Prayers

Happy Saturday!

Ok… first of all let me update you guys on yesterdays Frisco Beach World Horseshoe Challenge! It was Wayne and Jeff Wall verses Richard Lafoon and CHUCK BALSAMO! Just like you guessed it ladies and gentlemen… WE’LL KEEP ON FIGHTING… TO THE END… WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS… NO TIME FOR LOSING… WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS… OF THE WORLD! Lalalaaaaaa! (Lyrics to: We are the Champions… by Queen)

Oh yes, I am SINGING today… we won it fair AND SQUARE… and by the way, I did throw a DOUBLE RINGER in that game! Yup… oh yes… most definately… yupper do… wooohooo hoooo! I just can’t describe how profound this victory was for me! All the previous days’ sassing and sneering… it STOPPED right there! And when all was SAID and DONE, it was the real champs who ROSE TO THE TOP! We just needed to get warmed up for a few games… and once we were… it was SPANKING TIME for Wayne and Jeff!

You guys know, I’m just playing here right? The facts as presented, they are true! We did win just as I have written. Though, I must admit… Wayne is one of the best horseshoe players I’ve ever thrown against. And IF we had accepted their challenge to a few more games… my story would be very different. All I can say is that GOD ANSWERS VACATION PRAYERS!

Maybe thats the message of todays blog! God answers VACATION PRAYERS!

Just like a few days ago, when I prayed to find an unbroken sand dollar… and 30 seconds later I found one! God cares about every part of our lives… he loves to give us an advantage when we need one… and when we WANT one! Sadly, too many people feel like God only cares to process our SERIOUS and SPIRITUAL requests… and we ONLY talk to God about the things we ASSUME he’s interested in.

I believe God is interested in every single part of our lives. He wants us to talk to him about all the desires of our hearts. He cares about us finding sand dollars on a sea shore. God cares about the things WE care about… our dogs and cats… our properties and possessions… even our vacations.

Matthew 7:8 For everyone who ASKS receives; he who SEEKS finds; and to him who KNOCKS, the door will be opened.

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven GIVE GOOD THINGS to them that ASK him?

Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the DESIRES of thine HEART.

I have to admit how passionately I SOUGHT THE LORD for the victory of that game! And if anyone was watching, they could clearly see WHEN MY HELP SHOWED UP! Out of nowhere I started throwing like another person! I even remember thinking to myself, “WOW… God is answering these VACATION PRAYERS!”

I hope todays blog adds a little more humor to your amazing lives! I hope also, that each of you will talk to God more frequently about those seemingly unimportant parts of your lives! He’s your FATHER and he CARES about everything going on in your world!

If you’re in the Stuarts Draft, Virginia area… stop by Destiny Family Center 10am tomorrow for a transformational experience. Lola Widner is speaking… it’s going to be POWERFUL! Please leave your comments… and have a super day!

Wow! You guys must have real shovels out there. I don't think the ones my kids have that they use for hunting the sand crabs with would do a job like that!!! AWESOME

We too have an answered vacation prayer to share!! As you know we are at Virginia Beach since we could not go as planned with my sister and family because of Bo's knee hurting in June.

Bo only had a few days left of vacation so we prayed about what direction to go, found a cheap motel, packed the kids and and here we are. We were blessed to find an OCEANFRONT motel with a great rate on ORBITZ that was over half of what it would have been if we had booked it straight out.

It's not the best, it's old, but clean and the efficiency didn't look like we preferred so we took the plain one. It's been ok.

We were to come home today for a wedding of a someone close to us from our old church. The wedding is at 5pm. Sunday is Bo's birthday and he really wants to stay and so does the kids so it has been a dilemna.

We prayed and we are staying. Our kids are having so much fun together!! This is much needed. Family bonding is important.

The prayer…. To find a hotel room. We rented a big bike and started riding and asking rates up and down the boardwalk. OUCH!! Bo was getting discouraged and finally we quit arguing and prayed and the very next one was the best one by price and accomadation so today we check in there at The Capes for 1 night!

Be back Sunday!! I hate to miss Rachels wedding but I know she will know I still love her.

Great thoughts Chuck, I totally agree. It made me think. And then it made me think about the really HUGE "pie-in-the-sky" dreams and how we tend to make God too small also. As humans, we seem to leave God out of the really small, as you pointed out, but also the really huge dreams. The kind of dreams that no HUMAN could ever seemingly achieve. That's what I want to remember NOT to leave God out of as well. I want people to say "Wow, there's no way he did that without God!". If we remember the small, as you remind us, and we remember the HUGE, people will see God with us all the time. More importantly, He WILL be with us all the time!

Vowing to never leave God out,

    Your friend,

    Jon

  3. Nuala says:

God is a big God and does care about us and not just the big dreams, but the supposed small ones also.

God shows up when we don't expect him to and when we expect him to.

    How deep was that hole?

    Congrats on your win.

    Awesome Vickie on your hotelfind.

  4. Awesome you guys!!! Wow Vickie… Wish you guys were here or we were there for a day! Jon, beautiful addition to the blog! I love you phrase, vowing to never leave God out!!!! Thanks everyone!!! I love reading your comments!

  5. The hole was maybe five feet to the bottom of the water when we were finished.
