Happy Saturday!
Vacation is over… we head for home sweet home once the family wakes up. I’m kind of sad… love the beach and love the quality time with my family. The time has gone by so fast and my kids are growing up so fast. I just hope we’re able to continue this tradition as Coree and Heaven launch out to start their own families. (not for a few more years of course)
Last night, Coree and I went to the turtle lake just before dark. We fed the turtles one last time… had just as much fun as we did 15 years ago when he was 3. And of course you know Coree by now… he had us both pick one up! (photo) It was a great memory!
Coree asked to read my blog from yesterday on the ride home… the blog about himself… he laughed at the part when I talked about trading my iphone for his Spiderman camera. We had a few REALLY good chats on this trip… I cherish that!
Life is about memories… it’s measured in moments. We need to recognize those moments… and turn them into memories!
I believe it’s Leonard Ravenhill who once said, “The opportunity of a Lifetime must be seized in the lifetime of the opportunity!”
In everyday life, there are MOMENTS… everyday, there are OPPORTUNE MOMENTS waiting to be SEIZED… waiting to be TURNED INTO MEMORIES!
So we need to pay attention to our everyday lives… and live adventurously… be fearless… willing to take risks… vulnerable… transparent… creative.
I wonder: what kind of MEMORY can come out of this beautiful Saturday for you? Instead of lying around the house complaining that there is nothing to do… or lowering expectations because you have to work today… SIZE UP THE MOMENT WITH EYES OF FAITH. See what you haven’t seen before… right there in the same routine… there is a MEMORY waiting to happen!
I pray that today’s short blog triggers a future MEMORY for you guys! Even though we are TRAVELING home from vacation… I’m looking for our moment… or moments! I’m ready to make this day ONE FOR THE RECORDS!
Oh… and guess what?! I am speaking at Destiny Family Center tomorrow morning… if you can’t drive, fly, or walk… watch it online @ 10am! Please leave your comments… and have a memorable day!

Pastor, I think this has to be my most favorite blog yet of yours!! It speaks what is in my heart everyday I live!
This is why photography is such a living, breathing, passion for me because it takes those moments in life and freezes them for a lifetime and the generations to follow. Looking through life through a different lens (the camera) allows me to capture things in life that a lot of people might rush by in life just simply by not taking the time to STOP and SMELL the roses so to say.
We are in Baltimore today and will take in the sights of the Harbor!!! See you tomorrow morning!
We can’t wait to ingest all you have to share with us when returning!
Last night I chatted with a friend/family member I hadn’t talked to in a long long time. We talked about how when we would hang out and how much we laughed. I told him that I still laugh a lot because my husband, Randy, is hilarious. Randy doesn’t even mean to be funny at times and I crack up laughing. My friend/family member shared this with me on hope….heavenly opportunities presented everyday. I was like wow. After reading your blog this morning I saw he was on facebook and I was like what did you say hope stood for because I wanted to share it. You are so right moments are presented to us each day and instead of breezing on by them we need to embrace them and turn aside to see like Moses did at the burning bush.
Have a safe trip home and can’t wait to see what memories you make today!!!!
I am reminded of the lyrics to a song that I alway’s thought was particularly poignant. Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind
Memories, sweetened thru the ages just like wine
Quiet thought come floating down
And settle softly to the ground
Like golden autumn leaves around my feet
I touched them and they burst apart with sweet memories,
Sweet memories
Of holding hands and red bouquets
And twilight trimmed in purple haze
And laughing eyes and simple ways
And quiet nights and gentle days with you
Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind
Memories, sweetened thru the ages just like wine,
Memories, memories, sweet memories
Thanks Pastor, you’re right, it is all about choices, isn’t it? I know there are plenty of painful memories, scary memories, bitter ones…that we all deal with, but God gave every one of us the OPPORTUNITY for RICHNESS OF LIFE. To love, interact, to commune, to MAKE memories of our choosing.
Memories are powerful things. The recalling of pleasant memories has even been a catalyst of forgiveness and repaired broken relatonships.(especially the comical ones…it’s too hard to hate someone when you’re laughing at them!…..with them,:))
Funny, when on a vacation, we may be constantly aware of the “tape” in our minds– recording so we can rewind and watch later– we want it to be GOOD! But in day to day life, at the end of the hour, have we recorded anything worth watching? Have we allowed ourselves to be a precious recording in someone else’s memories?
Everyone! Take Pastor Chuck’s challenge! Don’t keep yourselves to yourselves! “There is a memory waiting to happen”!
Good additions everyone! We’re home now… happy to have HIGH SPEED WIRELESS INTERNET!!! =)
