Happy Thursday!
I think yesterdays blog got pushed aside because of the WILD birthday action we had going on at Facebook! So, make sure you guys go back and read, frenzied fans and home field advantages.
I set a goal of thanking EVERY person that told me happy birthday… and I DID IT… THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN! Yeah!!
Don’t you love the BUZZ created around birthdays? Of course, some birthdays are more ELECTRIFYING than others, but a birthday is a birthday! It doesn’t even need to be OUR birthday… there is an impartation of LIFE found in CELEBRATING people!
Birthdays are the ONE, and sometimes the ONLY, day of the year we demonstrate to our family, friends, co-corkers, church buds, and other random humans… WE ARE HAPPY THEY WERE BORN!
Yesterday, my cup ran over as HUNDREDS of my family and friends and other random acquaintances went out of their way to MAKE ME FEEL SPECIAL! And I was HIGH all day long! Emily made me a birthday breakfast: sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel! She also made me a very special birthday dinner with a very TASTY birthday desert! Heaven set her alarm clock on a summer morning to wake up early and give me a gift! Even the dogs told me happy birthday! My family is SO GOOD at celebrating birthdays!
Between emails, facebook messages, myspace messages, twitter direct messages, cards, phone calls, and text messages… someone CELEBRATED my birth every minute or two ALL DAY LONG! The energy I felt from this is far too wonderful for words! The LOVE was FELT!
What if we could make people feel this special everyday? What if you and I could BECOME RAVING FANS of our family and friends… the biggest believers of the special people surrounding our lives! What if we had a goal of making ten people KNOW THEY ARE SPECIAL… ten people, seven days, each and every week! Can you FEEL the difference this could make?
Last night at Destiny Family Center, I taught about this guy named Onesiphorus! He’s in the bible as the guy who REFRESHED the Apostle Paul!
2 Timothy 1:16 May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he OFTEN REFRESHED me and was not ashamed of my chains.
He OFTEN REFRESHED ME! He’s the guy I looked for on my bad days… this guy brought me back to life OFTEN… he was so REFRESHING!
We also should aspire to become this kind of person… ONE THAT REFRESHES others! Instead of waiting around for someone to come and bless us… let’s wake up every morning with the aim of REFRESHING people… lots and lots refreshing to lots and lots of people. May we see every interaction with a human as another opportunity to REFRESH!
Go ahead, try it… REFRESH SOMEONE TODAY!
Proverbs 11:25 The generous will prosper; those who REFRESH others will themselves be REFRESHED.
I pray that todays blog adds tremendous value to your amazing lives! Please leave your comments… and HELP EXPAND OUT INFLUENCE! Have a super duper day!

Good Morning REFRESHERS!!! Last nights message at Destiny Family Center was awesome and you are so right about how different life would be if people would make an effort to first seek JOY in their own life and then share it with someone around them.
It only takes you asking God to show you, direct your path, be your guide, put people in your path that HE wants there, put the words in your mouth that HE wants you to say and WATCH an pay attention to what happens in your life!!!!
The key is faith and obedience on YOUR part. You have to have the faith to believe that when you are prompted to speak to someone or go someplace don’t shrug it off and ignore it. That very suddle nudge deep down prompting you to do something or say something you usually would not or that you think YOU COULD NOT…. IS The HOLY SPIRIT inside of you and if you allow Him to operate through you and move yourself out of the way you will be that blessing that Pastor Chuck is speaking about and YOU will be BLESSED!
I have to tell you, last night when you were preaching this message about Onesiphorus,
(2 Timothy 1:16 May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he OFTEN REFRESHED me and was not ashamed of my chains.)
Lisa looked over at me with the cutest puppy dog eyes and said “you are my Onesiphorus”!!! I could have cried!! Of course I laughed , we both did, I told her she was my Onesiphorus too but neither of us could say the name correctly so we giggled and Bo looked stern. She then said we better be quiet before Bo gets us!!
This is just to show you that it pours from the head down. You are that Onesiphorus to us all!! You pour yourself into each one of us all the time and we as the church body need to go outside those doors and be the Onesiphorus’s to who we meet everyday.
I thank you for modeling the example and living the life in front of me.
Chuck, the service last night was so powerful. I left with a renewed fire deep within my gut for God. I want to thank you and Vickie for being my Onesiphorus. Yall refresh me daily and are definately not ashamed of my chains. I may have a day that dragges me to the brink and all I have to do is read your blog, watch a service, go to a service or call and it is like I’m the winning coach being doused with a cooler of ice water. I pray that as I grow in Christ that I to can become an Onesiphorus for the people in my life and those random people I meet everyday.
I hope everything turns out well with your grandma, I know what a driving force she is in your family. Your prayers do not fall on deaf ears and I know all will be well.
Have an awesome day and enjoy the blessing God has given you.
Vickie and I are going to gather the kids at the pool and lounge around for the day. REFRESHING!AAAHHHHHH!
I try to refresh anyone’s life I come in contact with. By putting a smile on my face which then makes them smile. If they are down I try to do something funny to make them cheer up. It is a full time job, but I don’t mind. I find myself or others tell me all the time i am a breath of fresh air and I help them cheer up. So, I am doing it when i don’t even realize it. I try to bring joy to every.
Thanks for highlighting this passage. Wow. I pray that I don’t get annoyed by people who don’t accept my refreshing attitude. I have found lately that I try and try to reach out to people and to show how much I love them and that I care for them, but it seems it falls on deaf ears. I know I once had those same deaf ears, so I need to be patient. I find that I get annoyed lately by people who do not accept my cheers, but I will press on and get over it.
Lord, forgive me for getting annoyed with people who do not accept my cheers and refreshing. Forgive me for the times I didn’t accept your cheers and refreshing. I ask you to give us hearts of refreshing and to be your light in this world.
Thanks Lord…..love, Nuala
