Happy Friday!
Surendra Kumar, our interpreter from Bangalore India… he will be speaking at Destiny Family Center on Sunday morning 10am! Hope you can rearrange your weekend schedule to come for this special church service… I feel as if it could be pretty significant for EVERYONE!
Woke up today feeling so grateful for all the beautiful people in my life! I thank God for their commitment to Christ, love for family, passion for evangelism, appreciation for necessary change, support for authorities, compassion for the hurting, expressions of praise and worship, consistency in prayer, faithfulness in giving and serving, hospitality, humor, creativity, humility, high excitement, mountain moving faith, love for the Word of God, notable work ethic, care for emerging generations… and so much more!
I love the way me and my buds DREAM such God sized dreams together… and when I look into the future I see so many worthwhile missions ACCOMPLISHED! I see so much celebration… high resounding celebration! I see millions of lives impacted in such positive ways… as long as we keep our HEADS UP and our FEET MOVING!
I was talking with my very good friend Jon Higginbotham yesterday, about the subject of FOCUS… and he really riled me up in a good kind of way! I walked away from that conversation remembering how important it is for us to stay surrounded with the right people… and not allow life to throw us off our divine course.
In order to reach a destination, we need an accurate map. We have to keep the map with us all the time. We have to STUDY the map and GET A CLEAR PICTURE OF WHERE WE ARE GOING. Maps keep us from missing turns. Maps take us from a start to a FINISH! Maps give us PEACE OF MIND, and the ability of KNOWING we are still going the right direction.
Ever notice how on a map, we never pay attention to the roads we’re not taking? When we look at a map and there are hundreds of lines… we usually HIGHLIGHT ONLY the roads we will be traveling on. Once we finish highlighting, we look at each road and each turn… until a CLEAR picture is imprinted in our mind. We envision ourselves traveling from start to finish… we see ourselves arriving at our destination SAFE and ON TIME!
On a long journey, we maintain endurance by magnifying the REASON for our trip. If it’s a vacation, we keep reminding ourselves about all the FUN THINGS we’re going to do once we GET THERE. If we’re traveling to visit a relative, we imagine all the LOVE we’re going to be able to exchange!
In life, we have to stay focused on WHERE WE ARE GOING and WHY WE ARE GOING! Yes, we should LOVE the journey and live in every moment… and yet, never forget that our lives are designed with PURPOSE… we are build for a DESTINATION…
Just a few random thoughts I’m having today… thought I’d pass them on raw and unedited! Be careful… don’t let anything or anyone carry you in the wrong direction. Know where you are going… and know where you are NOT going… stay on course and REACH YOUR DESTINATION!
For me, I know I’m journeying towards a glorious destination… I have to spend more time STUDYING THE MAP… so that I wont be pulled down some CREAPY DEAD END ROAD.
Philippians 3:14-16 MSG I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward-to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.
So let’s KEEP FOCUSED on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision-you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.
I pray that todays blog adds tremendous value to your amazing lives! Have a super day everyone!
