Happy Monday!

Looks like another beautiful day here in the Shenandoah Valley. The weekend was SUPER… hope yours was too. Had some pretty significant glitches of technology yesterday at church… still ended up with a transformational service. It was as perfect as it needed to be… and even though I was STRESSED about the imperfections, and my job was so much more difficult than it should have been, and the service did not play out as I envisioned on my knees hours before it began… God, still graced the moment and VALUE was added to our tribe!

Jesus said it so right when he called us THE SALT OF THE EARTH… THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD… A CITY ON A HILLTOP THAT CONNOT BE HIDDEN! (Matthew 5:13-14)

Even on our worse days, we’re adding so much to our world! Every follower of Jesus contributes something nice and lovely to this darkened civilization.

The 14 Obvious Blessings of the Christian Church

1. We create a consciousness of God, producing accountability to a supreme authority.
2. We place a high value on giving and sacrifice.
3. We promote love and mercy and forgiveness.
4. We believe that the greatest person is the servant of all.
5. We teach people to dream God sized dreams.
6. We provide emotional and physical healing.
7. We give hope to the hopeless and a second chance to every person.
8. We provide the surest potential for overcoming addictions.
9. We value character and teach people to have high standards.
10. We value families by supporting husbands and wives, moms and dads, and children.
11. We invest time, talents, and resources into our emerging generations.
12. We create opportunity for the creation of lifelong friendships.
13. We help people discover their real purpose for being… we empower them to reach their destiny.
14. Most of all… we provide a very clear path to salvation, peace with God, and a guarantee of life after death.

This list is not exhaustive… I had to cut it off at 14 so that you guys would read the blog. Even with this short list… you can see why we are still a blessing even when we’re off our game!

To maximize our effectiveness, we should maintain a posture of humility… not looking down on society, but helping her UP. Several months ago at Destiny Family Center, I said the following, “Todays unbeliever is not afraid to fall at the feet of a merciful God, but they are PETRIFIED at being THROWN at the feet of an arrogant church.”

Let’s be humble and loving… and let’s aim to bring our victory to others, REMEMBERING WHERE WE CAME FROM… living every day in continual appreciation for the life and character of Jesus now working in us.
