Happy Sunday!
Heaven and I went to the skateboard competition at the Staunton Park last night… had a blast! Our friend Dexter Underwood skated the top class most triumphantly… had fun cheering for him and watching his amazing tricks, preformed to near perfection! Some other kid Austin… very impressive in the intermediate class. Great job you guys!
While I was hanging out at the Fracture Sports Gear/ Jammerz Music stand with the co-owner and my friend Tara Widener and my friends Matt & Theresa Moore… I got reintroduced to Terry Argenbright and his beautiful family. Terry is the founder of Valley Extreme Sports Park… a great father, husband and follower of Jesus.
As I listened to Terry’s PASSIONATE story about overcoming obstacles to see his dream through… I was INSPIRED! His story is a message of TENACITY… and FAITH… and about GUARDING the POWER OF MOMENTUM!
The real AHHA came for me when Terry was talking about the period of time JUST AFTER getting turned down at Expo Land. His vision needed a LOCATION… and this seemed to be the BEST AND ONLY place in the region for an Extreme Sports Park. We talked about the momentary discouragement Terry experienced just after all his dreams were shattered with the Expo rejection.
Then I commented to Terry about how impressed I was over HOW FAST he re-mobilized his TRIBE of extreme sports enthusiasts ALMOST INSTANTANEOUSLY… and found another location… and negotiated a sales contract… and received a county approval!
Terry said to me, “I didn’t want to forfeit my momentum!”

If you’re going to do anything BIG with your life, you will be met with SETBACKS… discouraging setbacks and the very real sensation of hopelessness and defeat. This is where we can learn from Terry Argenbright. In those moments, we too must GAURD our MOMENTUM and quickly SHIFT IN NEW DIRECTIONS. The longer we sit IDLE… the more we risk being brought to a complete STOP.
Terry said that after a very SHORT period of feeling bad for himself, he GOT UP with his DREAM still intact… and months later, here he is with a phenomenal LOCATION for his Valley Extreme Sports Park in Greenville VA, just off interstate 81.
Maybe you’ve been hammered with recent setbacks and you just can’t seem to catch your breath. It’s ok to cry for a few days or maybe a few weeks… and after a SHORT period of feeling bad for yourself… GET UP with your DREAM STILL INTACT… before your MOMENTUM is entirely lost!
Refresh, regroup, re-inspire your tribe, recast your vision… chart a NEW and BETTER course of direction… and HAMMER DOWN in a forward direction until your dream comes true!

PASTOR CHUCK, YOU ARE TRULY AMAZING!!! THE WAY GOD IS WORKING THROUGH YOU IS MIRACULOUS!! I WASN'T ABLE TO BE IN CHURCH TODAY BECAUSE I HAD TO WORK BUT I GOT OFF IN TIME TO CATCH THE VERY END OF THE DFC SERVICE AND WOW WOW WOW!!!!! WE HAVEN'T SPOKEN IN PERSON FOR A COUPLE WEEKS BUT IT WAS AS IF WE WERE SITTING TOGETHER HAVING A CONVERSATION AND I HAD JUST SPOKEN TO YOU ABOUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN MY LIFE RIGHT THIS MOMENT.
THEN I WATCHED YOUR VLOG FROM FRIDAY AND IT WAS AS IF WE WERE TALKING STILL ABOUT WHAT WAS GOING ON IN MY WORLD AND MIND. YOU MADE ME CRY AND LAUGH ALL AT THE SAME TIME.
GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS BUT HE'S ALWAY WORKING FOR OUR GREATER GOOD. WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SEE IT OR UNDERSTAND WHY WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE THINGS WE GO THROUGH BUT GOD KNOWS. GOD KNEW OUR NAME BEFORE WE WERE BORN AND HE KNEW EVERYTHING THAT WOULD HAPPEN IN OUR LIVES AND WHY THEY HAD TO HAPPEN. SO, NO MATTER WHAT WE ARE FACING RIGHT THIS MINUTE, HAVE FAITH AND TRUST IN WHAT GOD IS DOING IN OUR LIFES, BECAUSE HE HAS A PLAN TO PROSPER US. WE JUST HAVE TO BELIEVE!!! THANK YOU CHUCK, YOU PICKED ME UP ONCE AGAIN. I BELIEVE I MAY HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE ONES GOD WAS SPEAKING TO YOU ABOUT AT THE END OF THE SERVICE.

Wow Lisa… that is SO ENCOURAGING! I still pray for you so often, believing that God, who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it! You are right… he does have a plan and it a beautiful plan! You have been such a blessing to Destiny Family Center and to my family… we love you… have a super day!

IT COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY DARK PERIOD FOR US BUT WITH THE LOVE AND SUPPORT WE FOUND IN GOD AND THE WONDERFUL DFC FAMILY IT HAS BEEN AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE.
