Invincible, Untainted & Still on Top!

Happy Friday!

Great week this has been! I feel very accomplished this morning… momentum is building into something so big… I can FEEL IT! No matter what comes at us, we keep getting stronger. Like a tree, who’s roots reach deep into the earth during a windy storm… our roots are racing into the DEEP.

Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man… Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

Matthew 7:24-25 Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

From personal experience, I have found that when the storms have arrived, we are either ready or we are not. There is no time for preparation once the winds start picking up. Whatever is in us will come out under pressure.

Life is all about foundations. Our successes and failures are sealed long before the battle starts. If we have an extravagant foundation… if we have an intricate root system… we will weather the mightiest storms! If not, we may be destroyed by the smallest things.

Truly, some people are WEAK and they topple over with the gentlest of breezes… while others cannot be killed under ANY circumstances. Have you ever noticed this?

Daniel & the Lions Den

Remember the story of Daniel and the Lions Den? Daniel was a young Jewish man who was captured and made to serve in Babylon during the Babylonian captivity. Because Daniel was so DEDICATED to God, he is remembered as one of the greatest examples of INVINCIBILITY ever recorded in history! Even though Daniel was a slave, he was LOVED by the Kings. Daniel proved himself “more capable than the other administrators and princes.” He was “faithful and honest and ALWAYS responsible.” Daniel 6:3-4

It is said that Daniel prayed EVERY DAY, three times a day… no matter what! (Daniel 6:10) He had a solid FOUNDATION… Daniel had an established PATTERN of doing the right things every day of his life… so that when the storms came, NOTHING could take Daniel down!

With great favor comes great jealousy… and it didn’t take very long for leaders in Babylon to HATE Daniel. They hated him so much, they tricked the King to sign a decree stating that no person in the Kingdom could “pray to anyone, human or divine” except to the King. (Daniel 6:6-9)

Confident in who he was… knowing that his God was with him, Daniel went up into his prayer room JUST AS HE ALWAYS DID… he opened his window and prayed THREE TIMES A DAY, giving thanks to his God. (Daniel 6:10)

As you can imagine, Daniel was captured and given the sentence of being thrown into a den of starving lions. Even though the King loved Daniel, he could not go back on his word… and as Daniel was being lowered into the lions den, the King said to him, “Daniel, may your God whom you worship CONTINUALLY, rescue you!” He then sealed off the opening of the den and everyone waited until the next morning to see what would come of Daniel! (Daniel 6:16-18)

The next morning… the King hurried out to the den… commanded for the stone to be removed… and to everyones astonishment, Daniel was still alive! When interviewed, Daniel said, “My God sent his angel to shut the lions mouths so they would not hurt me…” (Daniel 6:22)

As the story played out… King Darius gave orders to arrest Daniel’s accusers. They were thrown into the very same den they prepared for Daniel… and “the lions leaped on them and tore them apart before they even hit the floor of the den!” The king gave orders that “everyone throughout my Kingdom should tremble with fear before the God of Daniel!” And Daniel “prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian!” (Daniel 6:24-28)

Can you see how Daniel’s DEEP ROOTS kept him ALIVE AND WELL in the darkest hour of his life? Can you see how his victory was already CERTAIN long before the winds of that furious storm rose up? Daniel was CONFIDENT… even the King was CONFIDENT, that Daniel would come through this moment of certain death UNTAINTED and STILL ON TOP!

We should follow Daniel’s good example… we should build a SOLID foundation… so that when our storms come, we will have that same guarantee of coming through UNTAINTED and STILL ON TOP!

I pray that todays blog adds tremendous value to your amazing lives! Please leave your comments… and have a most outstanding day everyone!

  1. Oh goodness, this is soooooo funny. I'm not going to be tooting my own horn here but it's so funny how this is PERFECT for what I just went through. What you were saying about the roots that is. Examples being the 2 break ups I've been through this year. (Vomit I know) But the first I didn't have my roots strong enough (OH TIME OUT I CAN REFERENCE MY BOOK HERE!!!!!) My foundation wasn't strong enough when my one ex and I ended things. I ended up in depression for 2 months and I didn't have to. Just yesterday I was starting that process again and I woke up this morning and said, NO. I have better things to do with my life. I can't allow someone alter my life like that. I have better things to accomplish in my life. This is why I have a great 'bounce back' time. Or so I'm told. I don't have time to be depressed and sad. And it's not that hard to get to that point. Like the sign says out front. WHEN LIFE KNOCKS YOU ON YOUR KNEES. PRAY THERE.

    • I LOVED that saying on the sign and I meant to say something to you about it! Good stuff Deborah! I also like the phrase "bounce back time"… we must develop a FAST bounce back time… very well spoken!

  2. We are at the beach with George, Hannah and the rest of the crew. The storms of life have been sending us some awesome waves and thank goodness…we are prepared. The boards are waxed and we are trained and ready for the moment. Surfs up!
