Happy Monday!
What a weekend! Our quality time with Pastor David Kumar… priceless! (photo- Pastor Kumar napping after church) His humility and love for God and people… I pray for a far greater impartation of this in my life, my family, and our church.
The profound moment of this visit came for me on a short drive to Waynesboro yesterday afternoon. I asked Kumar to expound upon a comment he made during his Sunday morning message at Destiny Family Center.
My inquiry was on the subject of FAITH and APPRECIATION verses FEAR and GRUMBLING.
Pastor David spoke from Proverbs 3:4-5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
He created an acrostic for the word TRUST and he taught about how Americans can TRUST God in our current economic recession.
- T- Tabernacle… we must create a place of encounter with God, a meeting place. He talked about daily prayer and maintaining a close fellowship and experience with God.
- R- Repentance… Kumar quoted from Isaiah 59:1-2 where God says that His arm is not too short that he cannot deliver, but our sins have separated us from him. Kumar called on believers to… “go back to the Lord.”
- U- Understand… Understand Gods WAYS and Gods TIME. Gods ways are not our ways… and Gods has a perfect time for everything. There are reasons beyond our comprehension for some of the undesirable circumstances we can’t seem to immediately change in our lives.
- S- Supplication… Instead of GRUMBLING, we should PRAY about the things we don’t understand. We can do nothing by worrying or complaining… but prayer is a key that still unleashes the mightiest force in our universe.
- T- Triumph… Every trial has an end! Therefore, we must focus on the victory to come, knowing that God will bring good out of every circumstance!
Even though the entire message was well spoken and very useful in all our lives… point S- Supplication was absolutely transformational for little Chucky! You see, 7 long years of tribulation has a sneaky way of turning a man of great faith into grumbling coward.
It’s easy to start out OPTIMISTIC and end up CYNICAL. Life will rip us down if we fall off guard… the pounding storms will erode away at our SMILES… until the MOUNTAIN MOVER turns into a CAVE DWELLER.
On that ride to Waynesboro yesterday afternoon, I asked Pastor David to help me out of this grumbling RUT and back into a place of mighty supplication. I explained to him how I used to be so FULL OF FAITH and so ready to TACKLE any obstacle… how I appreciated every blessing of God. I described my recent years and how my GRATITUDE had been eroded away… how I was becoming a grumbler.
I so wish we had that conversation recorded… because it was PROFOUND, at least to me it was! Maybe tomorrow, I will tell you the amazing story he told me…
Deuteronomy 1:34, 35 When the Lord heard your COMPLAINING, he became very angry. So he solemnly swore, ‘Not one of you from this wicked generation will live to see the good land I swore to give your ancestors…
Philippians 2:14 Do everything without COMPLAINING and arguing.
An entire generation of Israelites died in a wilderness region just outside of their promise land… because, instead of appreciating all that God had done for them and all that God had planned for them… they grumbled and feared.
I don’t want to be like that wicked generation (as God calls them). So I’m praying for God to RENEW MY FAITH. You guys should do the same… because you’ve come too far to look back now!
I pray that todays blog adds tremendous value to your amazing lives… God bless you all!

Wow….I am going to have print this out!!!!! That is some good meat!!!! I like to chew on meat.
I have made up my mind not to complain about being on a new team, instead I will embrace and ask God to help me each day!!!!
I am tired of people turning away from God and complaining. I am tired of people losing their promises. So today, I will begin praying that hearts are changed.
Victory is what I call down from heaven!!!!!
