Happy Tuesday!

WordPress keeps telling me to UPDATE: version 2.8.4. In order to MAKE sure all their users upgrade NOW, it looks like they have taken away some of the toolbox features for the old version… making the task of blogging far more complicated. For example: I can only see five lines of my text at a time!!!

Since I’m in between web guru’s at this time, I’m stuck tackling this task on my own… and it’s a little scary! The auto update feature will not work. If any of you know where I can FIND YODA, please point the way! lol

Two terms for the following discussion:

1. H-OS: the Human Operating System

2. S-OS: the Spirit Operating System

The Bible explains the born again experience in 2 Corintians 5:17 when Paul says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION; the OLD has gone, the NEW has come!”

In other words… we a person is born again, he trades in his OLD HUMAN OPERATING SYSTEM for a NEW SPIRIT OPERATING SYSTEM… and the OLD SYSTEM BECOMES OBSOLETE!

After this spiritual installation, we no longer deal with our problems like we used to under to H-OS. For example: when a person attacks us NOW, we pray against the SPIRIT motivating his actions… we do good to our attacker by praying for him and forgiving him… and even BLESSING him!

The learning curve from H-OS to S-SO is GIGANTIC… it takes some getting used to! Every new follower of Jesus undergoes the frustration of not knowing how to master all the features of the S-OS. And if one should try to go back and use the OLD H-OS… it will not function the way it once did.

Being a Christian is not a destination, it is a journey! And should we continue to WALK WITH GOD, we will be UPGRADED DAILY with newer and better versions of the S-OS!

So as you can see, humans are so much like computers in that we too can acquire a NEW OS and periodic software patches and updates! Romans 12:2 talks of this when Paul calls on followers of Christ to be TRANSFORMED by the RENEWING OF OUR MINDS!

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be TRANSFORMED (upgraded) by the renewing of your mind. THEN you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Do not conform: But be transformed: By the renewing of your mind: THEN, you will be able to test (or experience) the BEST THAT GOD HAS!

It is our responsibility to LOG IN AND UPGRADE… or our S-OS will not continue to function as well as it once did. Here’s a simple two step process of automation:

1. DOWNLOAD the update: this comes from reading the Bible: we should download new information EVERY DAY!

2. INSTALL the update: this comes by praying: we’re supposed to challenge OLD human patterns with NEW biblical information EVERY DAY!

In addition to the auto upgrade settings I listed above, there are other ways we can optimize our S-OS… read good books, attend good church services, sing and worship God privately and with other believers, share faith and spread love to others… and anything else that helps to work new biblical truth into our minds and HEARTS!

Today is September (9), twenty nine (29), of the year two thousand and nine (9). I just downloaded S-OS version 9.29.9… and I installed it through prayer! Watch out world… I’VE BEEN UPGRADED!

I hope todays blog inspires everyone to UPGRADE daily… to download AND install EVERY S-OS feature available… and live the very best we can live! Even though this blog could have been written FAR better then it turned out… the idea is MIGHTY! Read it through 3 or 4 times throughout the day… meditate on the concept… schedule some time to LOG IN, DOWNLOAD, and INSTALL a mega version upgrade!
