Party @ Chucks Blog!

Happy Wednesday!

Internet problems early this morning… sorry about the delay in posting today’s blog! I know you guys look forward to reading all the blah, blah, blah things I write every morning! Right?? (cheese smile)

Well, I look forward to writing EVERY BLOG… and interacting with you guys each and every day! (rolling my eyes… Joke)

Blogging is one of my favorite things to do! Except when I get writers block… and that is a PAINFUL thing my friends! Sitting in front of a blank screen with nothing to say! Thank God that doesn’t happen too often.

Ok, let me get to the point! I’m taking a few days off from blogging… and I really need your help! Actually, I’m offering you the opportunity of a lifetime! (devious grin)

It would be super if a few of you regulars could post an inspirational comment or two… today, tomorrow, and Friday.

I’m asking you to take over the blog for JUST THREE DAYS! (puppy dog face)

INSPIRE each other to greater heights! Talk about dreaming big, living bold, and making a difference! (hand up for a a high-five)

Be funny, be serious, be you… journal, teach, write prayers, post your favorite quotes, and do whatever else you can come up with that will BLESS your fellow tribe members!

Don’t get too long winded… add a space in between each short paragraph… keep it light… and POSITIVE.

Then I will be BACK ON SATURDAY!

Oh… and I will be pooping in from time to time to see what you’ve come up with… happy Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday! Lots of love and prayers to you all!

ps: There’s an on purpose typo in this post… did you FIND IT? (laughing pretty hard!)

Ok, really I’m signing out… have FUN happy bloggers! CHANGE THE WORLD!

Please note: I reserve the right to delete comments that are offensive or off-topic.

  2. I’m learning that God can use even mundane, everyday problems to teach me things about myself and other people, and life. Things like: I may be good at spotting ‘problems’ and ‘issues’, but understanding why or what caused them is something else entirely.

I live in a trailer park and so does my daughter and her family. I can see her home from my front door. I went down there early in the morning Tuesday, when it was still dark to say goodbye before she left for work at the Waynesboro Rescue Squad. I also needed to make sure we had the grand-kids car seats since we had to get one to preschool and I was watching the other.

When I got there my daughter Beth said: “Dad, there’s a puddle of water at the end of the trailer. There’s a lot of water”.

So I go look, and sure enough, there’s a huge puddle of water coming from under the trailer. I had put a new water heater in it about a month ago so my first thought was that it had started leaking.

I have learned in my life that things are seldom as they appear to be. It’s very easy to spot a problem, like a huge puddle of water coming from under a mobile home. It’s another thing entirely to actually know what causes the problem.

So I fought off the urge to turn the water off to the trailer, and decided to wait for daylight so I could investigate more thoroughly. Besides I needed to wait for my son-in-law, Isaac, to wake up. So I waited for a couple of hours. The whole time I’m mentally ripping out floor boards and pipes, planning for the worst.

When daylight had fully arrived, me and Isaac started looking for the leak. We started right where the now quickly forming pond was. We pulled a piece of skirting up and looked underneath and discovered… nothing. The water wasn’t coming from the water heater. So we worked our way back the trailer, following the stream of water flowing to what was becoming a huge lake.

Finally, on the other side of the trailer, at the opposite end from the obvious sign of the problem, we found the leak. In the ground beneath the trailer was a huge mud puddle that the water was bubbling up from. Isaac stuck his arm down into the gooey mess up to his elbow and found the incoming water supply line had cracked.

The problem wasn’t in the trailer’s plumbing at all! It was something else entirely. All my thinking and planning about what the problem was and how to fix it proved to be totally wasted.

The point of this whole little story is that often we encounter people who have ‘obvious’ problems. Their problems may even affect us. And we may be certain that we know exactly what is going on and why. So we make decisions and plans about how to ‘help’ our friend based on totally inaccurate and incomplete knowledge.

If we’re truly blessed we’ll find out before we do something stupid,(like ripping out a perfectly good water heater), what the real problem actually is. We may even find that the problem isn’t in our friend at all. Maybe we’ll find an external cause. Maybe we’ll even find a log in our own eye that has to be removed before we can help our friend get the splinter out of their eye.

So next time you see someone ‘manifesting’, take a moment, or better yet a week or two, to pray and seek God to show you what the real problem is before you rip out someones heart (or water heater) by acting hastily.

  3. Nice Dave… very nice! We’ve all jumped the gun so many times… only to find things are not as they originally seemed. This is why we should do our best to GATHER ALL OF THE AVAILABLE INTEL before charting a course of action.

Of course, there will still be times in life when we will need to troubleshoot a situation without a clear knowledge of the problem… and we will have to try one thing and then another… until something works. SOMETIMES, we end up having to call in a specialist!

I think what’s most beautiful about your story is YOUR DESIRE TO HELP Beth. In this situation, you were able to find the source of the problem and get the right person on it right away! If it had not been that easy, your LOVE for her would have KEPT ON SEARCHING until it found a solution!

This is how we must be with every special person in our circle… willing to do what WE CAN to help make a difference… with great patience and love! And we need to be able to recognize those times when interfering will only make matters worse… and the very best thing we can do is lend a shoulder and PRAY!

Thanks for writing… I’m INSPIRED so much with your beautiful STORY! BEAUTIFUL!!!

  4. Good morning everyone,
This is where the Lord led me in His word today…
Proverbs 3:5-6 (The Message) Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Life is a process of continual change and growth; spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and financially. Life is full of surprises, some wonderful, some painful. The key to successfully adapting, no matter what the situation, is to build your life on God… who does not change.
Have a great day in Jesus!

    • One of my favorite places in the Bible Caroline! I love those verses SO MUCH! You’re right… a great key to success is found in building a SOLID FOUNDATION! For 19 years… my surrounding has changed up a million times… but my victory is SURE! He is our refuge and our fortress, our God in whom we TRUST! Have a super day!!

  6. Having the opportunity to be a part of Outreach Go at Destiny has made me realize im to blessed to be stressed. There are many around me facing situations and storms that make my issues and “problems” all but disapear. This past week i have tried to reach out to people who paths i have crossed, a smile towards a stranger, waiting that extra second and holding the door for the person behind me, Simple things that can make a big difference.

Restraining prayer, we cease to fight, Prayer makes the christain armour bright and satan trembles when he sees the meanest saint on his upon his knees.

My shield is dart proof. My helmet won’t fall off! My belt is buckled! with my breastplate oh my it’s on tight! Some call me a Jesus freak but thats alright cause my sword slays thousands! come on now! Blessed from my head to my toes!! No matter where i go Jesus Christ runs this show!!

Step out love on somebody this week letting someone know you are thinking and praying for them just might be the nudge they need to surrender their life to the Lord!!

  7. Today i had this several short appointment with some of my spiritual children .. chit and chat, talking about almost EVERYTHING. we talked about girl stuff, family stuff, relationship stuff, revelation stuff, okay i have to admit that we were GOSSIPING a bit (okay im lying now).. and i feel BAD though.

Instead of gossiping, i found this word : TEACHABLE SPIRIT
and suddenly i remembered how Jesus has a lot of people around Him when He was living on earth. Beside His TWELVE man, He has the otherS. But inside this twelve, Jesus has THREE man, but there’s ONE; he is JOHN.

In building a relationship with others, specially in raising up a new generation .. i think of this word very much today; that we should really look for this quality in each person and its our responsibility to teach and to raise this kind of people; a people who has a TEACHABLE SPIRIT. o i love this word. and tonite before i go to bed (quite sleepy now); i do pray that i would have this quality in front of God and men, and i do pray that i would meet this kind of people and raise this kind of generation. And i pray that everyone who read this would have the same quality as a person who have a TEACHABLE SPIRIT.

While thinking about this, i had a glimpse of me shouting NO to my baby and how stress i was when my baby was not listening to mommy. i believe we had the same nature with God as well *hehe* God is a spirit and also a person. He has feeling; yes His love is far greater than the distance between heaven and earth, but He has feeling. Lets be this kind of people who has a TEACHABLE SPIRIT and GROW FAST and BEAR FRUIT and put a SMILE on GOD’s FACE. and everybody says “Amen”

    Very spiritual though. *chuckling*
    OFF TO BED NOW
