Happy Friday!

Yesterday was a roller coaster of ups and downs. Worked till noon-writing about 60% of my sunday message for Destiny Family Center. Met with the 700 Club video interview team @ 1pm… did a video reenactment of the 08-18-02 Mark Brooks Salvation.

That was a very fun experience, working with Mark & Lori and all the congregation actors and the amazing 700 Club folks! I’m excited to see the finished product… should air sometime in December-will let you guys know when we get a definite date. Pray that many people throughout the world will be impacted by this video story.

If the day had only ended at 2:30pm… but it did not… and out of nowhere-I was pounded with a few hours of slander (being informed of recent slander). You would think slander would not affect a guy that’s been LEADING companies and ministries for 15 years… but it still hurts just the same every single time.

I guess it does make sense though… considering “gossip and slander” is the topic of my Sunday message… the EXACT SAME MESSAGE I had been working on ALL YESTERDAY MORNING. Maybe this new pain will help me teach Sunday’s message with a GREATER DEGREE OF EMPATHY… or with a serious ATTITUDE! PTL! Let’s hope and pray for EMPATHY! lol

Here’s a poem for your day… it’s called “Nobody’s Friend.”

My name is Gossip.
I have no respect for justice.
I maim without killing.
I break hearts and ruin lives.
I am cunning and malicious and gather strength with age.
The more I am quoted the more I am believed.
My victims are helpless. They cannot protect themselves against me because I have no name and no face.
To track me down is impossible. The harder you try, the more elusive I become.
I am nobody’s friend.
Once I tarnish a reputation, it is never the same.
I topple governments and wreck marriages.  I make headlines and headaches. I ruin careers and cause sleepless nights, heartaches and indigestion. I make innocent people cry in their pillows. Even my name hisses. I am called Gossip.

James 3:7-10

7All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 8but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

9With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.

So, let us use our tongues for BLESSING people today… on purpose-let us DECIDE NOW, that we will BLESS people with what we SAY… ALL DAY LONG! Come on, just ONE DAY… try it and SEE HOW YOU FEEL when the head falls upon the pillow this night!
