Here I Am : Send Me!

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday, after working till about noon… I surprised my wife Emily and my daughter Heaven with a trip to the Pumpkin Patch! We had a lovely time… picked out the coolest pumpkins EVER! It was so nice watching them both smile so much over the simplicity of a pumpkin patch! (photo’s)

My inspiring message for the day comes from a comment I made in reply to another tribe member’s comment… from Fridays Blog. You can go back and re-read that great blog if you like: Lead the World in Creativity. It was a GOOD ONE!

Blogger Des (Pastor of his church) commented: “[Chuck], I can feel your pain with respect to losing your [website/graphic] designer. I’m the only one in our church that does any kind of media ministry. We record the service every week to DVD and are stepping into streaming live on Ustream. What I wish for is that some of the youth would pick up the torch and help out with this ministry, but they are too busy texting each other to volunteer [their amazing talents].”

Here is my reply to Des: “Yeah Des… if the church was better able to INSPIRE our people: young and old… to lend their talents back to the God who gave these talents- we would be FAR MORE EFFECTIVE. I think this has to be one of my biggest sadnesses in life and ministry: living in a world of so much WASTED POTENTIAL… watching so many Christians use their greatness for building every kingdom but the one that REALLY MATTERS.”

Here’s a question every follower of Jesus should ask themselves from time to time: How much of my life and talent is REALLY SPENT on God’s eternal purposes?

As you go to church this morning (or you tune in @ 10am EST for the LIVE DFC WEBCAST)… try to IDENTIFY that specific part of your church family CURRENTLY STRUGGLING because you’re not yet bringing your “A” GAME to the table!

Be careful not to WASTE life and all your SPECIAL talents on certain personal initiatives that matter so little in the face of eternity.

Decide today, to GIVE YOURSELF and ALL that you are… to the CAUSE of the ages! Help BUILD THE CHURCH… volunteer your time, talents, and resources WITHOUT RESERVE… AS IF you really believe in the mission of Jesus Christ!

As in the case of Des’ story… we have to stop letting the guy with the biggest work load BURN OUT trying to DO IT ALL because everyone else is DISTRACTED. Enough Said! lol

Mark 1:17 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”

Mark 8:34 Then he (Jesus) called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Mark 10:21 Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Here’s a great song for this blog. It’s an oldie but a goodie! Have a super day everyone! Love you all… prayed for you this morning… hope you feel the difference!

Too many people live in the world of what's in it for me instead of what can I offer others.

I keep looking at the pumpkin with the knots all over it and it reminds me of what lepersy would look like on a person. It makes me think that we must not look at the outside of people, but ask God to show us their hearts. God knows people's hearts. We must be honest with God and daily ask Him to clean our hearts so our outer countenance will represent Him. We are to be there for the untouchable and to bring them home!!!!

Cute Nualla… nice illustration! Crazy thing is that those are Emily’s favorite pumpkins… same thing in ministry!
