Happy Friday!
Here are a four biblical prayer models you can use in your daily worship routine! Take the time to read through these prayers… print out the page… meditate over the meaning of each prayer… make each one PERSONAL… exercise FAITH… and actually believe for these things to happen in your own lives. Obviously, there are hundreds I could add to this list… but then, nobody would take the time to read them all. Please add your favorites by commenting them below!
Since I prefer praying with worship music playing in the background… here’s one of my recent favorites!
So here’s how you do it: start the video, take a minute to meditate over the lyrics, then start reading through the four biblical prayer prayers… take your time-read them over and over until they RESONATE in your heart. Say them out loud to God, just as their authors did. Ok, I’m gonna be quiet now… I’ll be back to close out the blog in a few minutes. (smile)
- A prayer for Gods Protection, Gods Presence, and Gods Promotion: Psalm 27:1-7
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation-
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble?
2 When evil people come to devour me,
when my enemies and foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
3 Though a mighty army surrounds me,
my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked,
I will remain confident.
4 The one thing I ask of the Lord-
the thing I seek most-
is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
delighting in the Lord’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple.
5 For he will conceal me there when troubles come;
he will hide me in his sanctuary.
He will place me out of reach on a high rock.
6 Then I will hold my head high
above my enemies who surround me.
At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy,
singing and praising the Lord with music.
7 Hear me as I pray, O Lord.
Be merciful and answer me! - A prayer for Gods favor that produces an enlargement of territory: 1 Chronicles 4:10
10 Jabez cried to the God of Israel,
saying, Oh, that You would BLESS ME
and ENLARGE MY BORDER,
and that Your hand might be with me,
and You would KEEP ME from evil so it might not hurt me!
And God granted his request. - A prayer for mercy and restoration: Pslam 51:1-10
1 Have mercy on me, O God,
because of your unfailing love.
Because of your great compassion,
blot out the stain of my sins.
2 Wash me clean from my guilt.
Purify me from my sin.
3 For I recognize my rebellion;
it haunts me day and night.
4 Against you, and you alone, have I sinned;
I have done what is evil in your sight.
You will be proved right in what you say,
and your judgment against me is just.
5 For I was born a sinner-
yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.
6 But you desire honesty from the womb,
teaching me wisdom even there.
7 Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Oh, give me back my joy again;
you have broken me-
now let me rejoice.
9 Don’t keep looking at my sins.
Remove the stain of my guilt.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit within me. - A prayer of praise for God responding to our desperate cries… for sending his angels… for the way he rescues us: Psalm 34:1-10
1 I will praise the Lord at all times.
I will constantly speak his praises.
2 I will boast only in the Lord;
let all who are helpless take heart.
3 Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness;
let us exalt his name together.
4 I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.
He freed me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
6 In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened;
he saved me from all my troubles.
7 For the angel of the Lord is a guard;
he surrounds and defends all who fear him.
8 Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
9 Fear the Lord, you his godly people,
for those who fear him will have all they need.
10 Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry,
but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.
Trust me… everyone who takes the time to play the “I am Thirsty” Roy Fields video and go through the above prayer exercise… everyone who takes ten minutes to do this WILL FEEL THE DIFFERENCE!
As with everyday, I just finished praying for my blog family… today, I did what I’m asking you guys to do… I prayed these verses over my own life and YOURS TOO! I hope this turns out to be one of your BEST Fridays in a very long time! Love you all!

The Psalms are probably my favorite book of the bible. Many times I use the psalter to express my heart to the Father. Here’s one of my favorites:
Psalm 19:13-14 (New International Version)
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then will I be blameless,
innocent of great transgression.
14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
I was at work, so I could not put the video on, however I did go through the prayers and I know how amazing I feel now!!! I plan on doing it again this evening with the video!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Wow Pastor, this is so cool how our minds are running together today. Well actually this thought didn’t start with me today as I have been searching for my old notes on this teaching about this prayer journal on and off for a while now. Kriste Pettway taught us in a Sunday school class at Ridgeview. I will have to see if she keeps years worth of lessons!
I have my journal though and if I have all the necessary “main” pages … I have you start with
P= PRAISE- Purposeful
Reverence
Awe of God’s Word
Integrity and
Sovereignty
Eternally
Behind the Praise Tab I would read Psalms and write down what spoke to me that day.
A= ADMIT – This is the repentance part-I have Psalm 139:23,24 written down
Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
24-And see if [there is any] wicked way in me, And lead me in the way
everlasting.
R= REQUESTS – This is where I would list prayer requests.
The scripture I have on this tab is Psalm 5:3 Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. (NLT)
T= THANKS – You can list all things you are thankful for here plus list out the answered prayer requests! I have 1Thes 5:16-18 as the scripture verse on this tab
Rejoice evermore.
16:Rejoice always,
17:pray without ceasing,
18:in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Then I have sections
L= Listening – Hearing the voice of God
M= Messages – keeping notes on sermon messages
N= New Testament – readings or scripture notes in NT
0= Old Testament – readings or scripture notes in OT
P= Proverbs – praying and reading the proverbs
for this Tab I have
P=People; advising us how to make
R=choices and providing us the
O=opportunity to grow, with pertinent
V=verses for
E=Everyday.
Read through all thirty-one chapters each month.
Thats it, in a nutshell but I may be missing some pieces.
I have another one that spells through P.R.A.I.S.E too. But I like this one because my kids made drawings for me on my main pages and that makes it “priceless” and very special!
Have a great day everyone!
Randy reminded me today that I need to praise God even when it is a sacrifice on my part. I got really down this morning when Randy was having a hard time walking and was in pain. I just wanted to give up, but there he stood praising God. Wow.
