For the Sake of Something Far More Precious!

Happy Wednesday-Happy Veterans Day USA!

Good morning friends… you good people have been so gracious with your loving comments lately. Thanks for commenting here and on twitter and facebook… your enthusiasm cheers my heart. You may not be able to see it in my writings, but this has become a week of untold sacrifice for me and my family. And while I’m overly sensitized to the agony of surrender, I thought to write about the topic. It’s the perfect topic for November 11-Veterans Day. Here are my inspired thoughts…

Sacrifice: an act of offering to a deity something PRECIOUS; destruction or surrender of SOMETHING for the sake of SOMETHING ELSE; something given up or lost.

No big dream ever lives without the destruction or surrender of something precious.

You have a dream? Thats good. You believe in that dream? How much? How much… do you believe… in your dream?

No big dream ever lives without the destruction or surrender of something precious.

You can be certain… in fact, I can promise you: that before any epic dream is realized, somebody will have destroyed or surrendered… given up or lost… they will have offered up EVERYTHING precious!

No big dream ever lives without the destruction or surrender of something precious.

I know the PAIN of sacrifice… already, at 38-I have died a thousands deaths… I have lost SO MUCH MORE THAN I HAVE GAINED at this phase of my race. I’ve gambled everything on nothing more than the long shot POSSIBILITY of seeing my dreams live.

No big dream ever lives without the destruction or surrender of something precious.

History is filled with those dreamers who gambled their all for the slightest possibility of success. So many of them died so early in the race… long before anyone tasted the delicious fruits of their selfless labor.

No big dream ever lives without the destruction or surrender of something precious.

Why do some people fore-go their hard earned fortunes and pawn away their well deserved luxuries… and pour out their most precious hours and days and months and years… for the fleeting vapor of a dream?

No big dream ever lives without the destruction or surrender of something precious.

This is because dreamers live and thrive on the POSSIBILITY of what MIGHT BE… for them, the long shot is A SHOT… and THAT is far more gratifying than taking no shot at all!

No big dream ever lives without the destruction or surrender of something precious.

Once a dreamer has really tasted the future… he is no longer contented with the tasteless present. He gladly surrenders up SOMETHING… ANYTHING… EVERYTHING PRECIOUS… for the sake of something FAR MORE PRECIOUS!

And to the dreamer… this is NO SACRIFICE AT ALL!

I pray that todays blog comforts you greatly, in times of great sacrifice! Don’t ever let the picture of what you’re fighting for fade away. Your life matters! Your dreams matter! YOU are making a very necessary difference… especially when it seems you’re making no difference at all. The dream will live, tomorrows better world will come into existence… because you refuse to wallow in a puddle of your own tears, knowing that NO BIG DREAM EVER LIVES WITHOUT THE DESTRUCTION OR SURRENDER OF SOMETHING PRECIOUS!

John 15:12-13 Jesus speaking: “This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you. No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends.”

WOW, WOW, WOW!! I so connect with your heart on this, Pastor Chuck! No big dream is ever fulfilled without some sort of sacrifice!! So many times it is in the sacrifice that we will give up and not see those dreams fulfilled. We get to the edge of the banks of the “Red Sea” and we look across the deep waters and feel a sense of fear and uncertainty and we turn back. But God just wants our obedience, no matter what the cost, so He can part those “seas” for us. You are a great example of never giving up in the face of adversity – when it seems like everything on this earthly realm is against you! I am honored to know you, a man 100% sold out to Christ!! Here’s to seeing those big dreams fulfilled as we give it ALL for Christ!!

I didn't get to reply yesterday and I came back and yet again my passion, to keep pressing on towards the hopes and dreams God has given me, continue to grow!! Thank you Lord! I know that it may not be easy but my sacrifice for something so precious you are there through it all!! Woohoo! I just can't thank him enough!!!!

Sacrifice for Christ is worth it all.
