10 Innovative Things 2 Do On a Snow Day!

Main Traffic Light in Stuarts Draft

Helped my 87 yr old Neighbor shovel his driveway.

A walk in the Neighborhood!

Happy Blizzard Day!

Wake up all you furry Eskimos! We’ve got some IGLOOS to build! We may end up with 30 inches of snow by tonight… I cant even open my family room door without significant force! Something like 16 inches already! WOW! This is becoming the biggest snow event of my LIFETIME!

My body is trying to ACCLIMATE… I grew a beard and thick furry arms and legs OVERNIGHT! lol Really, this is absolute wildness for us East Coast USA’ers!

I so wish we owned a SNOW MOBILE! Where is my Aunt Kim when I need her? She lives in Portage Maine, 20 minutes from Canada… and for her family, this is just a meager dusting! They drive snow mobiles to schools and restaurants up in those parts! Down here, we don’t have snow mobiles or dog sleds or sled dogs… or  hot chocolate machines on our refrigerator doors!

Thanks to Bo & Vickie Rankin, I have a nice new pair of eskimo pants! The timing was PERFECT, you guys may have saved my life!

Last night, I took our kids and some of their friends sledding behind the suburban! It was fun hearing one of them say, “This is the funnest night of my LIFE!”

My CRAZY son Coree ended up grabbing the tow rope and he SKIED for a half a mile @ 25MPH on his BOOTS! My determined daughter Heaven would not let go of the rope… and when I stopped to check on her, there was a MOUNTAIN of snow stacked up over her ENTIRE BODY! I had to shovel out her face to see if she was still BREATHING! lol

Great idea Deeeba! I didn’t list that one because I don’t have the PATIENCE for puzzles! Every ONCE in a while I can work on one for 30 minutes or so. I help my amazing grandmother about a year ago… that was my last one! Post the photos when you guys are finished!!

Wow! You really are getting snow. We are having a bright beautiful sunny day down here in Texas. Your weather reminds me of when we lived in the top of the Panhandle of Texas only our snow up there always went sideways because of the 70 mph winds. When the storm ended and it was sunny again we would spend the day on a hill with inner tubes or drag tubes behind a 4wd in a field. It was always a good time to bake too because it helped to warm the house (our electric always went off during these times too) We loved passing the time with cards or board games. Seometimes friends would join us if they could make it to our house. Just seeing all your pictures and reading your blog has made me a little homesick for some snow. Maybe we will get some soon. Hope you all stay warm and enjoy the snow.

I am so excited with all the snow you guys are getting. I can’t wait to see pics of Eli and Noah in the snow. I bet they could play hide and seek and never find each other. LOL. I love snow. My favorite thing to do on a snow day is just watching it fall. It amazes me. I also like catching snowflakes on my tongue. And of course snow angels. In IL we would build forts and drink hot cocoa or play football.

Snow reminds me of how white and clean I am becoming in Christ.

Well, we woke up this morning to about the same amount of snow you guys had! You’re grandfather said that it’s 4 to 5 feet deep in areas by him and the roads have not been plowed yet. It’s going to take awhile to dig us out :)

Oh, one thing you forgot to add to your list is to BAKE COOKIES! Once we dig ourselves out, we are going to make some nice Pilsbury chocolate cookies!

The things we have been doing on these beautiful snow days are:
Taking LOTS of pictures! Then we upload for all the world to see from my many websites. I am getting lots of hits from Ca!

We take walks in the snow.

Our kids has made tunnels in the backyard for our dogs to play. Our dogs are loving this I think more than my kids!

    We eat lots!

We mess around on facebook and see what others are getting into.

We get out in the neighborhood and talk to our neighbors, help them out, etc.

We call our shut in family and friends and check on them.

We watch hallmark channel which is running Christmas movies.

All that was pretty much yesterday.

So today me and Nikki has started making cookies and our plan is to bake everything we can that we have supplies for in the house. (this could get pretty interesting and creative as the day rolls on) Then package them up for gifts for our neighbors and friends!

The Snickerdoodle dough is chilling now!

    I love snow days!
