Adventurous Journal From The Past Few Days!

Happy Wednesday!

Last night, my pond waterfall froze up completely and the pump turned off. All five waterfalls and all four ponds are covered with ice. Dear God, please give oxygen to my fish, please heal my pump, and please help me figure out how to get everything running again. Brrrr, it’s cold out there!

Might have to call my dear friend Barry Valentine or “the water god” Keith Folsom! Barry and Dawn have one of the prettiest water gardens I’ve ever seen… and Keith Folsom owns Springdale Water Gardens, the greatest water garden super store in the whole wide world! Hold on fishes… I’m going for help!

Yesterday, we saw the worse car accident of our lives on the way home from Cincinnati… can’t imagine there were any survivors. The images of that accident moved us for a few hours! Emily said, “I wonder where they were going? I wonder if it was a husband and wife? We’re they dreaming about all the opportunities of this new year? We’re they holding hands at impact? Or maybe it was someone’s child driving home from work? I wonder…”

Here’s a photo of the accident… took place near Grayson Kentucky on I-64. The car is that pile of metal in the center of the photo. Please say a prayer for that family.

Had a great time in Cincinatti! Stayed with my long time friend Renny Evans Jones! Attended the memorial service for Grandma Wilson: she graduated to heaven at 104 years old! Way to go Grandma Wilson!

On Monday morning, Renny took us to the Mariemont Inn for breakfast! (photo) I ate a delicious fruit parfait with a french toast muffin… and a FEW bites of Emily’s amazing bacon and sausage omelet!

On Monday night, Ren and his cousin Dan Hendricks took us to a really fun hamburger place for dinner. (photos)

A really nice guy named Steve Mercer gave us a tour of Crossroads Church… one of the fastest growing churches in America and location of the grandma Wilson memorial! The innovation felt throughout that ministry is highly inspirational! Thanks Steve! Here’s a (very sad) photo of the beautiful Crossroads sanctuary.

Thats about it for the past few days… our mission was to encourage our friends in their difficult time… felt like a great success! Had a wonderful time… even on the SNOWY drive home last night! Happy to be see my kids and dogs… and oh God, I almost forgot my FISH! Better go tend to the water gardens…

Don’t forget tonight begins 13 Wednesday nights of DINNER and SMALL GROUPS @ Destiny Family Center! Hope to see you here!
