Happy Thursday!
Did you guys see Mr. Moon this morning? Wow, he was so eclipse-ish today… very handsome! I wonder what he looks like for all my friends in Indonesia today?
Thanks for the new feedback on my recent video blogging. I read a few very good ideas yesterday, from Jonathan Woodard, and Vickie Rankin and Ren Jones. I’m going to do my very best to continually enhance the quality of my broadcasts over the few weeks… so please standby!
As Jonathan suggested, it may not be a good idea to duplicate information. We’re not trying to phase out the written blog… we just want to enhance the MAGNITUDE of VALUE this blog site is adding to your lives!
I’m thinking eventually, I will move away from reading the ENTIRE blog word for word onto video. Instead, I’ll just highlight the written content and then freestyle a few thoughts… but, I can’t make any promises this morning… we’ll see how it goes! (cheese smile)
The Necessity of a Church Family
Ok, so as you know… we’ve had to cancel Sunday services for the past TWO Sundays. I’m really missing my church family… REALLY MISSING THEM!
Last night, at Wednesday night DFC Dinner & Grow Groups, I was so happy to see some of the church core… so happy I almost cried a few times!
After the delicious dinner, I welcomed everyone in the sanctuary and said the following…
When the church is closed for two weeks, we really have the opportunity: to RECOGNIZE the VALUE of our church family!
Check out these two verses from the Bible:
- Psalm 122:1 I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
- Hebrews 10:25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
You ever had one of those “ah-ha” moments about the necessary role church family plays in your personal life? Since so many of you here on the East Coast of the USA have been out of church for the past three weeks (2 Sundays=3 weeks)… are you starting to recapture some of that excitement you once had about YOUR CHURCH?
When that which is precious becomes ordinary, it is replaceable!
I say we leverage this winter of record snow fall… and we leverage all the missed church services… to refuel our ZEAL FOR THE HOUSE OF GOD… and our LOVE FOR THE FAMILY OF GOD!
Here at Destiny Family Center, I’m deeply concerned, especially for a few of the newer believers. Going that long without the inspiration of corporate WORSHIP… going that long without a HUG from Dawn Valentine & Mazie Wright… going that long without the prophetic word of God… going that long without being able to serve the church family… it leaves us alone and exposed to evil forces.
Even though we’ve done our best to stay in touch… I am praying with HIGH ENERGY & ENTHUSIASM for Gods safety to be blanketing the people of Destiny Family Center. I am praying that everyone will return for a record attendance this Sunday… that FAITH will be our banner… and Gods glory will fill our Church House and all the Church Houses represented in this blog tribe!
There is POWER IN NUMBERS!
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Todays assignment:
- Take some time to meditate over the benefits of your church family.
- Call, text, email, or facebook your Pastor, church leaders, and church friends… and explain to them, the PLACE they have in YOUR HEART!
- Gather your last three weeks worth of tithes and offerings and… get excited about your opportunity to… give online or bring your offering to church on Sunday!
- Start to DREAM about this Sundays service… raise your expectations to their highest level EVER!
