I Heard The Audible Voice of God!

Todays Video!

Happy Friday!

Job 1:6-11
One day the members of the heavenly court came to present themselves before the Lord, and the Accuser, Satan, came with them. “Where have you come from?” the Lord asked Satan.

Satan answered the Lord, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.”

Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless-a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.”

Satan replied to the Lord, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!”

As this story goes, Satan struck at Jobs heart so badly… here we are thousands of years later, still referencing this guy when trying to cope with life’s most fiery trials!

  • A messenger arrived at Jobs house with the news: “Your oxen were plowing, with the donkeys feeding beside them, when the Sabeans raided us. They stole all the animals and killed all the farmhands. I am the only one who escaped to tell you.”
  • While the first messenger was talking, a second messenger arrived with the news: “The fire of God has fallen from heaven and burned up your sheep and all the shepherds. I am the only one who escaped to tell you.”
  • While the second messenger was still talking, a third messenger arrived with the news: “Three bands of Chaldean raiders have stolen your camels and killed your servants. I am the only one who escaped to tell you.”
  • While that messenger was still talking still ANOTHER messenger came with the news: “Your sons and daughters were feasting in their oldest brother’s home. Suddenly, a powerful wind swept in from the wilderness and hit the house on all sides. The house collapsed, and all your children are dead. I am the only one who escaped to tell you.”
  • And later… Satan left the Lord’s presence, and he struck Job with terrible boils from head to foot. Job scraped his skin with a piece of broken pottery as he sat among the ashes. His wife said to him, “Are you still trying to maintain your integrity? Curse God and die.”

Can you IMAGINE?

Ok, so why am I talking about Job today?

Well, last night at prayer meeting… I heard the audible voice of God!

This has only happened a few times in my entire life… and not in many years! So it was a HUGE DEAL!

While we were praying, I was walking around the alter area, worship music was playing in the background… and out of NOWHERE, God said to me, “I am so proud of you!”

And then I saw a vision of everything that happened to Job… and then the past twelve months of my life, replayed right in front of me… I saw gigantic demons flying down over me… the sky lost its sunlight as they filled the skies above me… for twelve months! I saw God looking down on me, WITH GREAT CONFIDENCE, knowing that I WOULD NOT CURSE HIM!

And last night, he said to me, “I am so proud of you!”

Double 4 Your Trouble!

At the end of this Jobs trial… the Lord gave him twice as much as before! TWICE AS MUCH!

Job 42:11-17
Then all his brothers, sisters, and former friends came and feasted with him in his home. And they consoled him and comforted him because of all the trials the Lord had brought against him. And each of them brought him a gift of money and a gold ring.

So the Lord blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. For now he had 14,000 sheep (used to have 7000), 6,000 camels (used to have 3000), 1,000 teams of oxen (used to have 500), and 1,000 female donkeys (used to have 500).

He also gave Job seven more sons and three more daughters. He named his first daughter Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch. In all the land no women were as lovely as the daughters of Job. And their father put them into his will along with their brothers.

Job lived 140 years after that, living to see four generations of his children and grandchildren. Then he died, an old man who had lived a long, full life!

Happily Ever After!

Have you ever been through a Job like set of bizarre circumstances? Does it seem like SATAN is stalking you NOW… like YOU are the unfortunate specimen for his next VIOLENT EXPERIMENT? Do you ever feel HUNTED… pursued by dark forces… and in those times, you can’t see a single ray of light shining through the thick dark clouds over your head?

Never curse God and die! Learn from this story about Job! Why do bad things happen to good people? Because good people are the best TARGET! John 10:10 says, “The thief (the devil) comes to steal, kill, and destroy… and I (Jesus) have come that you might HAVE LIFE… ABUNDANT LIFE!”

Peter said this about fiery trials: Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something STRANGE were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

There is a LIGHT at the end of EVERY long dark tunnel! The sun is ALWAYS shining above the storm clouds! God loves you! He’s always fighting FOR you! He is so proud of you! He’s the one thats cheering for you and always believing in you. So, never curse him… never accuse him of forsaking you.

Trust him… and you will LIVE to see a LONG FULL DOUBLY BLESSED LIFE on the other side of your FIERY TRIAL!

I hope todays blog adds tremendous value to your amazing lives! I spent so much time praying for you all today! Check out this POWERFUL VIDEO and have a super duper Friday! Tunnel: Third Day

  1. I WILL NOT CURSE GOD! Wow the more I read the more my eyes became filled with tears. I can really see the what the devil is trying to do. I WILL NOT CURSE GOD! In every equity of my life the devil has come against but I am determined to stand,I have a full suit of Armor a Sword and a Sheild and God has got my back. I WILL NOT CURSE GOD! Thank you so much for that Word. I WILL NOT CURSE GOD!

  2. Thank you – I REALLY needed to hear this! After a long month of depression, I broke down last Sunday night, crying that God left me. I was so down I couldn't see Him above the gray clouds. Job is one of my favorite books for this reason you write about today. Thank you for reminding me! GOD IS SO GOOD!!!

    • Wow Heather! Wow… I can FEEL the electricity of this moment, as God REACHES into your situation to lift your chin! He's rooting so loud for you RIGHT NOW! I can hear it… and I am praying for you this afternoon. Thanks for commenting! By the way, which Heather is this… I know too many Heathers!! lol

  3. WOW…WOW…WOW!!!! I LOVE the story of Job. The Lord had me study Job for about 30-45 days and there is so much revelation there. I have been counseling with one of my best friends as God told me she was a "modern day Job in female form". Her story is one of total disbelief and amazement but what a testimony she has now! Through it all, as many times as she wanted to give up and "curse God", she made it through and is now one of the most incredible, strong, on fire, pure woman of God I know. God took EVERYTHING away from her (including her natural born children) and is beginning to restore it ten-fold! Once I began going through this journey with her I understood why God took so much time to teach me the revelation of Job. I am so excited for you Pastor Chuck that you heard God's voice and He is well pleased with you. Never give up or stop what you are doing and never squealch that fire and passion within you. You are always such an inspiration and have a word that changes me in some way, every time. Thank you!

  4. Rae, are you talking about Ciindy Lombardo? I loved her husband and sons SO MUCH! She has been such an INSPIRATION to so many people since that accident! I pray for her OFTEN, asking God to give her a HAPPY ENDING! Thank you for always encouraging me Rae… your words are always LIFE to ME! God bless you with more than you can contain!!

  5. Man oh man! That is so cool that you heard his voice. We are all proud of you too. It has been a crazy year. God has done some serious reconstructing at dfc. The trials have been so painful for you and your family, but you endured all of it (AMAZING). Even when you felt like giving up you held on! You're character is at a much higher level than famous preachers much older than you. It's like God did in a year or two for you, what can take others, 10-15 years. The enemy wanted to demolish you're character (even using other members in the body) and now I bet he wishes he never messed with you! You didn't let the lies and tricks work on you. God must be gettin you ready for something big.

Whenever I hear Job's name, I cringe (Im being honest here lol). I am so blessed to have read that book when I was going through the worse time of my life almost 6 years ago. It changed me and the way I look at any crisis I have in life. I still at least know somewhere in the back of my head in my darkest hour, that God is for me and not against me! No matter haw far off I am, he pulls me back.

My mom and I were talking about standing on the word in hard times when it looks like God is hiding. She reminded me of one of our favorite parts in the movie Facing the Giants. When Brooke wanted a baby SO BAD and hears discouraging news after all they had done, she says to God 'I will still love you!' through her gut wrenching tears. It was her solid faith that helped her decide right then and there that she would not allow that pain to make her sit down and shut up and stop believing.

That kind of perseverance is what encourages me to keep on trusting God. There have been times that I have thought 'God, where the heck are you?!' I know he is with me, but man I forget that God doesn't go by our clock, he's got his own. lol.

  6. Wow Mel, that is the PERFECT movie clip for this blog! I remember that exact scene… and you're so RIGHT! Thanks for encouraging me… i think God knows how much resistance we can handle… and doesn't allow us to opt for the beginners workout all our lives. This morning, Emily was working out to a DVD and she asked me if she should select: HARD or EXPERT… and I said, what the heck, select EXPERT! We are capable of GROWING so much faster than we think we can! Great thoughts Mel!!

  7. Pastor, it is not Cindy Lombardo. Cindy is now in Branson with her parents and sister and doing quite well last I heard.

It is a girl I work with who has become my BEST FRIEND and ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER! When I came on board in this office we didn't know anything about each other and come to find out she knew my husband and they had a history of knowing the same people. It was pretty incredible how God placed me here and how He used me during these past 3 1/2 years! God is totally amazing and every day He amazes me even more!
