Happy Thursday!

Last night I had a dream:

I was sitting at a picnic table in the front yard of a medium sized brink rancher house.  The house was already rented to a single man, and the owner wanted to rent it to a second tenant, to double his rental income. It was a single family dwelling (not a duplex)… and the current tenant wasn’t asking for a roommate. I remember thinking, how strange.

A few other people were sitting at the table with me… I don’t recall who they were. The owner of the house was working on something 30 yards away from the table… he and I never talked during the dream.

All I know, is that I was doing something to help the owner with this rental… like making up the advertisement. There was a newspaper to my left… and on the front page, there was an article about my DEATH.

I read the article and realized it was for the NEXT DAY. According to that front page story, I was going to be stabbed in the chest and killed by the owner of that house… the NEXT DAY!

The dream was very believable, because this owner was psychotic individual I had tried to help in my early days of ministry, with little success.

Do you ever have dreams like this?

I have my initial thoughts about this one… here are two of them.

1. It’s a prophetic warning: cautioning me to protect my personal space. God gave plenty of such warnings to his prophets and apostles… and he gave them specific instructions about not ministering or traveling in certain places at certain times.
2. It’s a fear tactic from the devil: to neutralize my compassion for such people.

On a lighter note… I’m meditating on Matthew 5, 6, 7 this week… the famous Sermon on the Mount, spoken by Jesus. Read these three chapters today, tomorrow, and saturday… if you can! It’s transformational! Here are a few specific verses I’m meditating on today…

Matthew 5:7 God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Matthew 5:44 But I say love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!

Matthew 6:14 But if you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly father will forgive you.
