Sacrifice: It’s Only Comprehended with Experience!

Happy Saturday!

Became slightly discouraged yesterday when it took me 3 hours to finalize the editing for 8 pages of my 413 page manuscript! I’m getting better and moving faster, but not fast enough. My goal is to finish the editing by the second week of June. God… help? (smile)

Who’s Having More Fun?

Please take a look at the todays photo. Now, tell me what immediately comes to your mind. Who’s having the most fun? At a fast glance, it may seem like the girl in the front (with the GREAT BIG SMILE) is have far more fun than the girl thats laying her life down for the benefit of a friend! Yet, I have found that sometimes, OFTENTIMES…

It’s more fun to push than ride!

I went on the funnest UVA hospital visitation trip of my life, yesterday afternoon! Kristin Via, Dawn Valentine, Cindi Fortin, and myself went to visit 3 suffering church friends… hoping to make a big difference, and walked away with a bigger difference made in our lives! We were so encouraged with the OPTIMISM of those patients! We laughed and inspired each other 30 minutes to the hospital and back, we had so much fun creating smiles for our friends!

Really, the greatest way to shake stress is to PUSH EVERYTHING ASIDE, and GO BEAUTIFY SOMEONE’S DAY! Every single time I’ve ever done this, I’ve always walked away with a BRIGHTER OUTLOOK!

The amazing warmth one receives when he our she blesses another… sacrifice: it’s only comprehended with experience!

Luke 6:38 “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”

Proverbs 11:24-25 “Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”

And that’s my blog for today… hope it inspires a few hundred selfless weekend activities! I’m so thankful for this beautiful blog tribe! You are very good people! Love you all… and still praying for you everyday!

Don’t forget church at Destiny Family Center tomorrow 10am, if you’re nearby! It’s gonna be AMAZING!

Dream Big, Live Bold, and Make the Difference!

  1. Great Blog, as always and so in line with what I am feeling too! I always look at the photos you post so before I even read the part about you asking to describe what we felt I had already went there in my head.

For me, The girl in the front appears to be laughing and having a good time in that moment. We can't see the face of the girl pushing her friend but my guess is that she is laughing so hard and having so much fun she could pee her pants!

If you study the photo a bit you see the size of the girl pushing is quite a bit smaller than the girl being pushed. The girl pushing is pouring all that she has in her into making the momentum of that bike move for her friend.

When that bike starts to move and those wheels keeps going that will show the rider that NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE for those that BELIEVE! Just hang on and TRUST! KEEP GOING, Don't stop. Let Faith work through the people God puts in your path and God will take care of it all.

Don't look back. Looking back in that picture could cause doubt to creep in then the "pusher" could fall flat on her face and the story ends for that moment. Focus is very important. The Focus is in all God's Glory knowing it's Him who is directing the scenes of our lives.

That's what I see in this photo.

  2. Thinking again. The girl "pushing" is not in the "laughing til you pee your pants stage yet" She is focused and set with determination to help her friend knowing "I can do all things thru Christ who Strengthens me." She knows without the Holy Spirit IN HER, and WORKING THRU her she has no power of her own. But… She knows she can put her faith in GOD and BELIEVE that HE WILL lead, guide, direct and PUSH THROUGH to help her help her friend. THEN….. the laughter comes, the joy of knowing all is well.

  3. Vickie! You are quite the REVELATORY gal! I always love to read your insights! You are the girl in the back pushing people into happiness! : )

  4. It could be a give and take scene. The girl on the trike is having more fun in the moment and the other girl is patiently pushing toward the prize, working hard until it’s her turn to ride. She has faith that she will get a turn just like the friends we visited yesterday at UVA have faith in God that He will work all their suffering for the good. That was a really fun and inspiring trip yesterday and each time I think of the visits I am more encouraged. HAPPY THOUGHTS!
