4th Down & Inches To Go!

Happy Sunday!

Wow, I just finished an intensive study of Revelation 12. Not on purpose, by my final preparation for this mornings message took me there.

I was meditating on verse 12, “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”

This chapter set me ablaze… just thinking about how fast biblical prophecy seems to be unfolding these days!

According to Revelation 12:12, there will be a great increase of demonic activity in the earth as we head out of this Grace Age. The darkness will put up everything it has, evil will surge at God’s people… because he [the devil] knoweth that he hath but a short time.

I don’t want to be a weak Christian. If we are one of the final generations, then we should become the finest generation of Christ followers the universe has ever known. We should train ourselves for intensive opposition, and go forth unfazed by any of it!

2 Peter 3:10-12 But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment. Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames.

Since this is not my main focus for today, I’ll leave it here for now.

You should come hear todays message if you’re nearby! You can also watch it online @ DestinyFamilyCenter.com. I’m speaking from the Favored Series: 4th Down & Inches To Go!

For everyone else, I wish you a most triumphant Sunday! With much love…

  1. Todays sermon was good! Every Sunday I feel like I'm getting realigned for whats to come the following week! You're such an encourager.

Ariel and I were talking about how today's Christians should be incredible people of faith and yet instead we tend to be such babies. After church this morning we talked about some of the things Paul went through on his travels and we both marveled at what he went through with complete faith. Wow. And just a week ago I let having a flat tire bum me out for nearly two whole days! I finally gave up being upset and started thanking God for the opportunity to drive a car and a nice car at that. I thanked Him for all kinds of things in my life that was GOOD and I felt worlds better. I also realized that letting myself get upset at that situation and worrying about how I would pay for a new tire (blah blah blah) was a lack of faith in God that He would provide for my needs. I want the faith in God that Paul had.

Also I looked up that 1 Peter 3:10-12 and it didn't seem to match up with my Bible. I was just curious where that passage is from. 🙂

  2. Hey Emily! I know I am not Pastor but I was reading and I saw your comment. It is actually

2 Peter 3:10-12. I am just catching up on reading the past week of blogs so I hope this helps. 🙂

    • I don't know what you ladies are talking about? It says 2 Peter in the blog. lol! Really, I'm so sorry for the confusion. But more than that, I'm very impressed with your eye for scripture Emily!!! Thanks for helping Elaine!! I guess I better get on my game when I'm hanging out with you Berean's! Haha.

Acts 17:10-12 NIV "As soon as it was night, the brothers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue. Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Many of the Jews believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and many Greek men.

      Have a super day! : )
