An Illumination: The Way Of Life And Innocence!

Happy Tuesday!

“Satan, the god of this evil world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe, so they are unable to see the glorious light of the good news that is shining upon them. They don’t understand the message we preach about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:4 NLT)

This morning, I woke up with a huge burden for the people I’ve known throughout my life… the ones who are still locked in the darkness. Now, after walking in the light for almost 20 years, I often forget what it was like when I was on the other side of the threshold. I find it hard to remember what it was like to live in the dark, when I could not see or feel the light that was shining on me. It’s so hard to believe there was a time when I could not comprehend the message about the glory of Christ!

Dear God, I never want to live another second of my eternal existence outside of this light. Jesus is more real to me than anything in this physical earth. I can’t fathom the coldness of having my light removed… the emptiness of having Jesus taken from me. I don’t care that this cold dark world mocks people like me. My profession of faith is not a fraud.

Read these classic words from the Apostle Paul, as he spoke to Timothy (his son in the faith) about how much he believed in Jesus, and how much he wanted Timothy to love Jesus too. Paul’s words to Timothy speak so powerfully to me this morning. I hope they will do the same for you…

2 Timothy 1:9-14 “For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. 10 And now he has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News. 11 And God chose me to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News. 12 That is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return. 13 Hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching you learned from me—a pattern shaped by the faith and love that you have in Christ Jesus. 14 Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.”

Did you catch the end of verse 10…

He (Jesus Christ) broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News.

If you have this light (the illumination of this light), then carry it faithfully… every day. Never let yourself feel shame for loving Jesus passionately. Instead, bring your light into the darkest places… and shine more and more brightly, until others comprehend the message we preach about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

Here are a few songs for this moment. Enjoy!

That’s my message for today… I just prayed you all another most triumphant day! Thanks for reading my daily blog! Thanks for your comments! With much love…

  1. I find it hard to be a light in a dark place sometimes. Its hard not to be sucked back into sin along with others who sin. Never before in my life have I felt such opisition to do the right thing, but I now know that it is nothing but the devil and his evil doers trying to take me down. but have I got some news for him he aint nothing against my will power that was given to me by the holy spirit and the godly people i'm trying to suround myself with.

  2. I have been thinking the same things lately. And I have to remind myself–about myself–especially when presented with an opportunity to testify. It’s a strange past/present membrane and sometimes it’s hard for me to identify with my old world-view and thought patterns. What really blows my mind is that the “then and now” contrast isn’t as sharp as it’s gonna get! I am still being transformed! We ALL are, as we go deeper into life in the light.

Also, I can surely understand what Levi meant! Not only is there LIGHT and DARK, but there’s GRAY and that’s where the god of this world likes to crouch in wait! Oh dear Lord, please help me to always run away from the dark! I thank God I have the protection of an awesome church family and brothers, sisters and teachers and pastors who pray for me! This is a gift from God 🙂

  3. man chuck i am going through the same thing i just brought somebody back to Christ last night and they recommitted their life to the Lord it was powerful and it filled me with so much joy wow. when the time arises to spread Gods word, then go for it and God will fill you with the words and the right things to say. its an awesome feeling to lead someone to the Lord and i am not ashamed to say the name of Jesus to a non believer, i love it. well just letting you no i love you man and ill see you tomorrow at church to spread Gods word again.

  4. Wow! There is a lot of this going around lately! Talk about being led by the Holy Spirit! I too have had a growing burden for those that I have known or still know now that have not light! It gives me great pain to know that I may never see them again after this life! I am always praying for the right words at the right time so that I may either bring them to know Christ or plant the seed that will eventually bloom!

I thank God that I am not where I was as that is definitely NOT who He has called me to be! I thank God that I can look back and remember I never want to go down that path again! I pray too that God will use my knowledge of where I have been to reach others! God is sooo good! Have a great day everyone! <3
