When “Wooooosh” Happens!

Happy Wednesday!

I just re-read yesterdays blog and I didn’t even remember writing some of the things I wrote! Sometimes, when God has something He desires to say (or do) through us, it is like, “Wooooosh!!” Do you know what I mean?

I am sure you have had those moments when God so completely took possession of your total being, that all you were able to control was your sight… so you could watch as a person looking at a video screen as God went “wooooosh” (in a very good and positive way) all over everyone in your path!

I want my whole life to be an unbroken series of “Wooooosh’s.”

Each new day is a new adventure, for the man or women who is fully yielded to God, for His great purposes.

Living entirely for yourself, produces a life of emptiness and boredom. Living entirely for God, produces a life of absolute fulfillment! Anything in between, is average. We should always choose the positive extreme!

Before your head hits the pillow this night, are you going to experience that “wooooosh,” sensation at least one time? Or, are you going to trudge through a lifeless routine of mediocre devotion, and go to bed without anything to make you laugh or smile, or even cry?

Everything can change right now…

Picture this:

God is a law enforcement officer in a high profile chase, just like in the movies. He starts out on foot, until the bad guys speed off in a stolen vehicle.

What does the law enforcement officer do in this situation?

He steps in front of the first available vehicle and yells to the driver, “Police business, please step out of your vehicle!”

He doesn’t say, “Excuse me sir, will you follow that car as I buckle myself into the passenger seat?”

No, he seizes the entire can and urgently positions himself in the drivers seat… because he is perfectly skilled at high speed chases!

Read the following few verses very slowly…

2 Corinthians 4:6-10 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

In other words, on the day when you and I opened our hearts to the message about salvation, Jesus rushed into our lives. A beautiful piece of God was deposited like treasure within us… and we became God’s chosen vehicles of expression. When God love chases the bad guys, he wants to chase them in our surrendered bodies!

God wishes to seize us for the chase! All we have to do is OPEN THE DOOR!

He will come in, and there will be so much more to you and me than meets the eye. We can spend the rest of our lives under a divine assignment, as carriers of precious cargo… speeding through this world with a noble purpose! Do you see what I’m saying?

And… according to those verses we just read, we are unconquerable while we are on the chase!

  • We are pressed on every side, BUT NOT CRUSHED.
  • We are often perplexed, BUT NOT IN DESPAIR.
  • We are persecuted, BUT NOT ABANDONED.
  • We are struck down, BUT NOT DESTROYED!
  • We carry around in our body (God’s sacred vehicle), the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also BE REVEALED IN OUR BODY!

Come on… reckless abandonment is what I’m calling for today. Untether your life from the boredom of living entirely for yourself. Look to your right and then back to your left… and move towards the positive extreme!

There is so much more I would love to say on this subject, but I’m out of time.

Your thoughts?

I can’t believe I am doing this to you guys again today… Citipoint Worship, Commission My Soul. Watch it again!
