Forget About THAT, It is Nothing Compared to…

Happy Saturday!

Just about the time you are worn out telling that same story of your last deliverance, God will prophesy your next one.

If you read the Bible more than at a casual glance, you will feel the awesomeness of the omnipotent UPWARD current: a power that is perpetually thrusting God’s children higher and higher and higher.

God will never leave you where He found you. It does not matter how blessed you are right now or how blessed you have been in former days.

You have not already lived out your finest days. If you will BELIEVE AGAIN like you did in the beginning, if you will stir the stagnant fire and awaken the curiosity of what CAN be, then you will hear God saying, “Forget about the past. Stop feeding off of yesterdays miracle as if you no longer have a God! Look AHEAD with eyes of faith, for I am about to do something new.”

This is what God was saying to Israel, through the prophet Isaiah. Those people were still reciting their past blessings as if they no longer had a God… without the HOPE of something new! Read the following verses very slowly… slow enough to meditate on them. Then continue.

Isaiah 43:16-20

I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters,
making a dry path through the sea.
I called forth the mighty army of Egypt
with all its chariots and horses.
I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned,
their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick.

But forget all that—
it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
For I am about to do something new.

See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
The wild animals in the fields will thank me,
the jackals and owls, too,
for giving them water in the desert.
Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland
so my chosen people can be refreshed.

To embrace the future, we have to stop holding on to yesterdays victory like THAT is the last big thing God is ever going to do for us. From 20 years of walking with God, I have learned that God will continually outdo Himself until the day we die… as long as we keep our faith attached to the promise of it!

  • Some people memorialize the wrong things from their past. When they look back, all they see pain and suffering… and they spend their future screaming, “Unfair!”
  • Other people live in the exaggerated re-emphasis of their past victories… and they miss a hundred next level blessings, because they have lost their faith in a God who is always capable of outdoing Himself!

I’m excited about what God has done in my life UP TO THIS POINT. When I look back into my past, my memories are etched in faith! All I see is the LORD who was THERE.

Having a memory etched in faith is very crucial to a miraculous future. It causes us to reason: If God has done it before, then He can do it again!

My emphasis in todays teaching is on the phrase, “But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new.”

Early in the morning, I was sitting here in my sunroom, meditating on the goodness of God in my life UP TO THIS POINT. I kind of told the Lord, “I’ve preached my greatest sermons, I’ve looked the best I’m going to look, I’m fading from my youthful zeal… maybe the world has seen the very best I have to offer them.”

And God took me to Isaiah 43 and chills went across the surface of my skin as He said,

“Forget about the past. Stop feeding off of yesterdays miracle as if you no longer have a God! Look AHEAD with eyes of faith, for I am about to do something new.”

Wooooosh! That is a Word from heaven, not just for me! This is the Word of the day and the Word of this weekend for you and for the people of Destiny Family Center. We start at 10am tomorrow morning… having another unscheduled baptism ceremony during the service!

Here’s a great video for todays blog: TobyeMac, New World.

I just finished praying for you (with tremendous passion), hoping you really feel the difference. Have a most triumphant Saturday!

  1. I thank God for messages of hope like this. Sometimes when I can't see or don't understand what God is doing in me right now, I lose sight of the future He has for me. Thank goodness for something new in our lives. I can't imagine going through life never growing into something better than what I am now. I'm glad God loves me enough to not leave me here. Thanks for this encouragement Chuck! I could hear this message EVERYDAY and never get tired of it!

  2. Wow!! I needed that today. After what God has done for me over the past 2 years I sometimes feel "How can God out do what He has already done?" But this gives me renewed hope that He isn't done with me yet. Everyday is a miracle and a blessing. God is faithful and will not leave me where He found me but He will not let me stay stagnant where I am now. The embers have been stirred over the past few months and the fire is building. Watching the revival first hand not only in our church and community but also in my home is awesome. Thank you God for DFC and my the many wonderful new christians I have been blessed to surround my life and my daughters lives around. PRAISE GOD!!!!

  3. First of all, i like the new look of this page; and im asking myself "where have you been?" 🙂 But more than the look, or even the layouts, im looking more for the words. Reading this blog (the wole of it), making me knowing God from a different point of view, and of course i get the privilege to know about the writer, his mind, his heart, and of course his happy family and his growing church.

And you know what Ps Chuck im telling you, reading is always like talking in person with you and also Jesus. You're so inspiring! 🙂

About what you wrote today, i think that sometimes i become like "some people" and "other people" you shared in this blog. Even last minute before i decided to open this link, i was like talking to God about 'the unfair thing' that has happened in my life these past two weeks. And, im crying while reading the blog. each words is so alive to me, and i feel 'relieved' its like receiving a water in the desert, its like feeling a cool breeze on my face, and its like a warm hug from heaven.

Thanks to you, Ps Chuck for delivering a message.. and even though im far away, still the word of God is working until its done! and its well delievered right into my heart. Say "wow" 🙂

  4. Thanks Pastor Chuck for this word. Like the others who commented I needed the perspective. Life has a way of sucking the wonderful hope we have in God right out of us. After reading your blog today I'm looking forward to a miraculous future!!

  5. Love the new layout!!! Refreshing.

Thanks for the reminder that we are to look forward to the things God is going to do in our futures. I get excited about that!!! This world needs something new to happen to wake them up from their slumber. I know it is awakening, but they are about to get knocked out of the craddle!!!! It is time to wake up and grow up in our relationship in Christ. I get more excited to see what new thing God is going to do in other's lives than my own. I sit in anticipation watching to see a spark of newness in people. I am awaiting for the world to stop doing TRADITIONS and to do what God wants them to do.

  6. Yay! I love this! A reminder that God always is better than we thought he was. His blessings are unlimited 🙂

I think we're all going to experience them as we genuinely seek after him! Whoosh! I'm gettin chills!
