Stirring Up The Spirit Of Elijah, Again!

Happy Wednesday!

Three more people committed their lives to Christ on Monday night during a young adults gathering at my house, another one last night at a church prayer gathering (he gave up a serious drug addiction)… that is 240+ new commitments to Christ in the past three months! There is a DFC church service scheduled for 7pm tonight!

Last night, I read a few verses to the group, from Luke chapter one. They were spoken by the mouth of Gabriel (an archangel), to the Father of John the Baptist, before John was conceived. Gabriel prophesied John’s future life and ministry… and offered us tremendous insight into the ministry of earthly mission of Jesus. Here are those verses…

Luke 1:13-17 “But the angel said to him: ‘Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John. He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born. He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God. And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.’”

Hearts Turn When Jesus is Manifested!

From this we see that  something epic started up prior to the revealing of Jesus as God’s Son and savior of the world. God anointed this man, John the Baptist and said that his preaching would, “Turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient [children] to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

God is Stirring Up The Spirit of Elijah, Again!

I believe that God is stirring up the spirit of Elijah once again! God is preparing the earth for the revelation of Christ! In a vision, I can see a sudden rise of radical preachers, with the spirit of Elijah—to prepare the way of the Lord one final time!

Desiring The Spirit and Anointing of Elijah

I read those verses several years ago, and wrote in my Bible, “I want this anointing on my life! I want the spirit and anointing of Elijah for my generation. I want my life and ministry to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the hearts of the children back to their parents!”

Last Night, We Caught It!

Last night, I pleaded with those young adults to pursue a new heart of love for their parents… and for their entire parent generation. I explained how their parents didn’t mean to mess up so badly. Life has a way of beating parents down and pushing a huge wedge in between them and their kids. I described life through their parents eyes and explained how some of them held the keys to their parents salvation, through their mercy and forgiveness.

We prayed for God to turn our hearts… and that is what He did! People were crying as they prayed… the moment became highly transparent. Last night, we caught it!

I suggested to those young people, that the greatest sign of true salvation is when the hearts of the parents and children are turned to each other. We prayed for the dividing walls to COME DOWN! We prayed for humility and forgiveness! We prayed for God to take away our rebellion and make us sons and daughter of obedience… that our godly lives would place a smile on the face of our parents. It was a very special moment.

This Christmas, Give Away Your Heart!

We are only a few days away from Christmas morning. If you act on this message, you still have enough time to build a homemade gift-your greatest gift! You can’t purchase this gift at Walmart, Kohls, or Target. It’s a gift that money can’t buy. It is the gift of your HEART, the gift of love, the gift of mercy, forgiveness, and reconciliation!

Pray about it. Act on it. Come back and tell me what happens!

Your thoughts?

Here is a great video for the moment, Misty Edwards-Arms Wide Open!

I just finished praying for you (with tremendous passion), hoping you really feel the difference. Please leave your comments here on this blog site so that we will always have a record of your beautiful additions.

Make this a most triumphant Wednesday! Do something FUN, it’s the Christmas season, remember?

With much love…

  1. I love what you said about praying for God to break down the dividing walls! It made me think of these verses:

"But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby : And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh." Ephesians 2:13-17

Only God can break down the walls…but we have to be open to the "destruction" of what we've spent so long building. At the end of us–that's when Christ shines.

    Great blog! 🙂

    • Emily, you are SUCH a powerful writer! Thank you for adding SO MUCH value to these blogs! I especially love your phrase, "Only God can break down the walls…but we have to be open to the “destruction” of what we’ve spent so long building." Beautiful! 🙂

  2. First of all I have to say I love the picture!! One of my all time favorite Disney movies! The very first time we came to DFC you showed a clip from that movie to go with your sermon!

Pastor I love reading all that is happening each and every day at DFC!! God is soooo good! God spoke to me about the spirit of Elijah a few years back and I feel it coming back in my spirit full circle again! I know for me I am giving my whole heart this Christmas and have seen an abundance of Christmas miracles this year! I pray that God will bless each and every one of us as we give of ourselves this CHRISTmas!!

Well I am running out of time! I could go on for hours. Love you all! Have a blessed day!!

  3. I Love it too Elaine 🙂

Chuck thank you for what you said last night about pursuing a new Love for their parents. I couldn't be there but this morning I'm getting texts about how amazing it was. You are covering so many bases that will make the difference in their lives.

I hope anyone feeling sad because they can't spend a fortune on a gift, read the part about mercy, forgiveness, and reconciliation. I'm so done beating myself up about not being able to buy an ipod touch or xbox 360 w/ kinect or the barbie dream house for 350 dollars. Not allowing commercials on tv or other peoples fortunate situation to make me feel inferior anymore. Coveting is a sin anyway so that lets me off that 'guilty parent hook' lol. My status even referred to it on fb haha. I don't want my friends feeling bad about anything on Christmas day. What a distraction from the reason for the season that would be.

The spirit of Elijah sounds good to me! We are ready!!!! I wanted to say something Mon. night at the Christmas party but I couldn't, I knew I'd be all weepy (happy tears) no one would've been able to understand me lol. I just love and respect them so much. There is something very different about their age group and mine. Here lately I'd rather hang out with them than people my own age. lol If they stay on this path I don't see them struggling like my generation has. They will meet the right person and have happy marriages easily as they pursue God. They don't have to be overtaken by moral decay and selfishness. Praise God for people like you and Bo n Vickie for being flexible because you cared enough to help them:)

    • Sure thing Elaine!

Mel, last night was bizarre. It was not an easy night. High spiritual winds blowing the entire time. In the end, it seemed to each of us that something BIG had occurred! I can still feel the effect from that meeting… we all still feel the effects of that meeting. And to think that church starts TONIGHT at 7pm… WOAH! About Monday night, I so wish you would have spoken up… I always love to hear your thoughts… everyone does!! 🙂
