An Undivided Heart

A prayer from The Pursuit of God, by AW Tozer…

“Father, I want to know Thee, but my cowardly heart fears to give up its toys. I cannot part with them without inward bleeding, and I do not try to hide from Thee the terror of parting. Please root from my heart all those things which I have cherished so long and which have become a very part of my living self, so that Thou mayest enter and dwell there without rival…”

You might have to read it a few times before the revelation comes. It blew my mind this morning, so I am giving it to you. Also, read the past two blogs, even if you’ve already read them: Have You Swallowed Your Foot Lately, and The Story of a Young Lady.

I’m really anticipating your comments, I just finished praying for you with tremendous passion, have a most triumphant Tuesday!

With much love,

  1. Wow! What a powerful introduction in this blog! I will definitely add this book to my list of books to buy! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Lord, help us to Love what you Love and hate what you hate. You are jealous for us, please deliver us from our selfish ways, allow us to lock eyes with you and let go of our 'toys'. Help us to remember you are with us always, and your perfect Love casts out all fear.

As far as material items that we want and sometimes idolize, we know we need you more. We know we can't bring it to your mansion, you have better stuff up there than we could ever imagine anyway.

Help us learn to Love like you. In Jesus name, Amen.
