Happy Mother’s Day, Ladies!

Happy Sunday!

I lost my mom 5 years ago. There is really no way to see the full value of a mother… until she is gone. If I could spend just five minutes with my mom this morning, she would greatly enhance the course of my next ten years! Her smile would put me at ease, her hug would melt the accumulated ice bergs in my heart.

My mom said I was a champion and I believed her! In times of hardship my mom said it would be ok… and I believed her! There is nothing in this universe more closely aligned with God’s love like a Mother’s love.

This morning, I pray for God to bless the moms. You ladies are so much of a blessing to society. I hope you know that. (smile)

I pray for every child who has lost a mom to death… and every child who has lost a mom through neglect. Sometimes, moms get burnt out, they become self focused and they forget their children… it’s rare and unthinkable, but it happens. I pray for every son and daughter who is longing for a distracted mother’s love. I pray for every father who is being father and mother to his children right now. Grace and peace.

I pray for every mother who has lost a child. May God comfort you and restore your happiness as He did for Naomi after the loss of her two sons. (The Book of Ruth)

Even though I am celebrating this Mother’s Day without a mom and without my grandmother (on my moms side of the family)… I am still very happy for this day! I am happy because this is the day to honor moms! I will channel my love to the other mothers in my life.

I thank God for the mother of my children! Emily is a notable mother! Her love is seen in Coree and Heaven every day! Her love makes our house a home! Even though one person can never replace another, and I feel somewhat empty on day’s like today, Emily’s love is all encompassing in this human relationship!

Finally, I thank God for His amazing love… a love that always fills the gaps!

Isaiah 49:13-16

Shout for joy, you heavens;
rejoice, you earth;
burst into song, you mountains!
For the LORD comforts his people
and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.

But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me,
the Lord has forgotten me.”

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me.”

May this day be beautiful in every way for you and yours. Happy Mother’s Day!

With much love…
