The Birth of a God Sized Dream!

Happy Sunday!

On the week of an earthquake and a hurricane, and when two of my dear friends have given birth… this morning immediately following the 10am service at Destiny Family Center, hundreds of friends will be holding their Make Me A Legend – first released copies.

When I left my office last night @ 1:45am, I was more tired than ever in my life (or at least it seemed that way). People will never know how far BEYOND the breaking point my life was pushed for this book to happen. Through God’s grace, I’ve driven the wheels off of this body… and I have no rational explanation for how we’re at this point.

Dreams don’t come easy… most of them don’t come at all. This is because there are a million reasons to quit along the way. Would you believe me if I told you that there were moments yesterday (when I was dealing with a huge PayPal shipping glitch and every other thing that could go wrong) when I thought about recalling this release before it even happened? I cried real tears a few times. Once, I even dropped to my knees, looked up to the heavens, and asked God if He was against me. Then I asked Him to forgive me for those moments of weakness and confusion.

The truth is that God is not against me, and more than likely He is not against you either. If you’re trying to do something positive with your life, then it makes sense that you will face resistance along the way. If you’re trying to do something LEGENDARY, like write a book titled, “Make Me A Legend” then you might be hunted with tanks and fighter jets (from the spirit world).

Nobody changes world history with a casual skip through the daisy fields.

Do you have the stomach for this? Do you have the guts? Because, “no guts, no glory!”

The higher your aim, the more your life will look like a far-fetched Mission Impossible movie.

This world needs to be rescued… physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

If you want a simple, comfortable life, then keep to yourself and stay away from the rescue efforts… stay away from the front line.

“The legends of today and tomorrow will appear out of nowhere (it will seem) with radical convictions and sudden influence! They will rally the dissenters, challenge the establishment, and obliterate the status quo. Do you believe this is possible? Can you see that it’s already beginning to happen? How are you responding to it? Are you marching on the front lines or cowering in silence until the victory is secured?”

“As for my family and me, we would rather die a bloody death at the front lines of today’s hottest battles than to live in the false comforts of self-preservation. God forbid that we should even slightly deviate from our dreams. God forbid that we should drag out our days knowing that our lives matter for no cause beyond our own survival. I cannot bear the thought of scrounging off of anyone else’s hard work for even a single day, without putting back something far more valuable in the days that follow. No, instead I pray in earnest that God will expend every last ounce of us Balsamos—that He will feed a hundred nations and many generations with the great quantity of plunder acquired with our calloused hands.”

In his blog titled, “A Full Life,” world evangelist Greg Laurie wrote:

“Our objective as Christians should not be to merely live long lives; our objective should be to live full lives, meaningful lives, and purposeful lives.

Jim Eliot is one example of a Christian who did this. As a young man, he felt God was calling him to take the gospel to a tribe in Ecuador then known as the Auca. Tragically, Jim was martyred along with four other missionaries in their attempt to share the gospel. Jim once wrote in his journal, “I seek not a long life, but a full one, like you, Lord Jesus.” That is a good thought: Life is not a matter of years; it is a matter of what we do with them. What are you doing with the years God has given you?”

I want to spend my days in testing and sacrifice, so that others will have a chance to live. I want to lay down my life for a generation yet to come! I want to throw my body at the furthest edge of hells cliff and push back everyone I can! I’ve considered the cost, I know what I’m up against. There is no retreat, I will never cut a deal with my adversary.

“I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” (Acts 20:23-24 NIV)

Nobody will ever know (or really care) what my family, my church, my close friends, and I have gone through to birth this dream. It’s almost killed some of us. But here it is… the birth of a GOD SIZED DREAM.

“A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.” (John 16:21 NIV)

Are you also carrying a God Sized Dream… and the potential of what you’re trying to do can make a huge difference if it really came true? Be inspired by this message… to keep moving forward at any expense. Never give up on your dream. Drive the wheels off of your life (if that is required)… because you will REAP A HARVEST IN DUE SEASON if you do not grow weary and FAINT along the way! (Galatians 6:9)

Maybe I will see you at this mornings 10am service. With much love…

Dream Big, Live Bold, and Make A Difference!
