All synonyms for the word…
Momentum is defined as
1: a property of a moving body that the body has by virtue of its mass and motion and that is equal to the product of the body’s mass and velocity; broadly : a property of a moving body that determines the length of time required to bring it to rest… when under the action of a constant force or movement.
2: strength or force gained by motion or by a series of events.
Without momentum, life is an exhausting chain of starts and stops.
Most people never experience momentum, because they start in a new venture with a blast of energy, but give up instead of pushing through, when faced with resistance.
Notice from definition ONE, “…when under constant force or movement!”
You will never know the BLISS OF MOMENTUM until you develop the qualities of tenacity and endurance.
Momentum is force gained by motion!
In other words, to have momentum, oftentimes, you have to embrace the repetitious boredom associated with doing the same RIGHT things again and again despite the lack of immediate reward.
Do you want to increase your momentum this month? This week? Today? The rivet your will to God’s dream and do the same RIGHT things with rhythm and consistency… high success is never an accident!
Here are three great quotes about momentum:
“Success comes from taking the initiative and following up… persisting… eloquently expressing the depth of your love. What simple action could you take today to produce a new momentum toward success in your life?”
“If your position is everywhere, your momentum is zero.”
-William N Lipscomb, Jr.
“Sliding headfirst is the safest way to get to the next base, I think, and the fastest. You don’t lose your momentum, and there’s one more important reason I slide headfirst, it gets my picture in the paper.”
And a great Bible verse:
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” (Galatians 6:9 NLT)
I hope this message inspires a noticeable increase in your momentum. Your dreams are worth the consistent effort.
I just finished praying for you this morning… so have a most triumphant Friday!
