Thanksgiving: Be Rich Where It Matters

I’m bursting with gratitude! Yes, of course, my life is challenging (even terrifying) sometimes, but I am rich where it really matters!

And so are you. (smile)

We are loved by PEOPLE…

Family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, twitterers, facebookers, mentors, peers, apprentices, the church, churches, etc.

We are loved by GOD…

Mercy, forgiveness, grace, salvation, everlasting life, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, peace, joy, hope, faith, miracles, real life, etc.

We have a PROGRESS…

Struggles, breakthroughs, achievements, milestones, victories, memories, etc.

We have a FUTURE…

Purpose, calling, vision, destiny, resources, alliances, partnerships, a race to run, limitlessness, anticipation, legacy, etc.

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-15 NIV)

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be THANKFUL. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with GRATITUDE in your hearts. (Colossians 3:15-16 NIV)

Thank God for the past and all the experience it gave you (even through the disappointments and failures).

Just pause for a few minutes this morning and say, “Thanks.”

Smile for the goodness.

Then, with God’s amazing grace, please about whatever pains are behind you, and press toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called you heavenward in Christ Jesus!

May this be a day of healings, and miracles, and new beginnings for you.

Happy Thanksgiving!

With much love…

  1. To be forgiving and to be forgiven are two things in life that I come to realize are stumbling blocks for many of us. It is one of those things that like living out our thankfulness (in the purest form we know how), is sometimes the hardest thing, but often times the very thing we need to do in order to really move on with our lives. Truly, having an ungrateful way of living and/or being unforgiving, maybe common and preferred for many reasons, but something like a near death experience during surgery will make one realize that grace plays a big role in each of our lives. With that said, I hope others will come to God the way I have. Yet, I hope others will grab hold of this in more pleasant circumstances and not in the grip of fear or the brink of mortality like myself.
