We dreamed he would change the world. We prayed he would discover a dream that is bigger ours. Then, last year, our son said, “God is sending me to the remotest villages in this world. I’m going where they don’t have roads, or electricity, or food and medicine. And I’m going to spend my life helping these people.”
His plane leaves on Sunday!
We are thrilled, but constantly on the brink of crying.
It’s like being marched to the edge of a cliff. There’s no escaping the inevitable jump ahead.
If you know us, then you know how close we are. It’s not fake. We love each other as much as people can love. Each one day apart from each other feels like a month or a year. And now, Coree will be gone for months to years at a time.
There will be times when he doesn’t have cell service. We will go long periods of time without hearing his voice or knowing if he’s ok.
Are we are bad parents for not talking him out of this?
Believe me, there is part of us that would much rather see him start a church here in America or do something else in ministry that is far less extreme.
But we raised him to be courageous!
We trained him to find God’s dream and follow it, no matter the cost!
And Coree’s dream is one of the greatest dreams I’ve heard in my lifetime.
His dream is humanitarian and spiritual.
Here is how Coree describes it on his website…
I will backpack into these villages and live amongst the people and learn their culture. Then, I’ll find a way to better their lives by reducing sickness, starvation, etc., as I minister to them along the way. Inevitably they will dedicate their lives and their villages to Him.
My belief is this: Save an entire village and there will be endless future generations born into a better way of living, and with a fighting chance at eternal life.
Even through the sadness of being separated from him, Emily and I are filled with joy, knowing that our son is going to change the world like this! We are committed to do everything we can to help him follow this dream. We invite you to join us.
Go to Coree’s website now to see how you can get involved!
It’ll take 5 mins total, and you’ll walk away inspired. I promise.
Here are two ways you can get involved right away!
So far, he’s raised about $7000. He needs to raise another $5000. You can give a tax deductible donation on Coree’s website. Then, you can know that you are a part of something awesome!
As you can imagine, this is a dangerous mission. Coree’s life will be continually at risk. Even if you can’t give financially, please sign up for Coree’s updates, and pray for him as often as you can.
Thank you for giving, praying and caring. God bless you for it.
