Pursue A Dream That Gives God Goose Bumps

Today I’m at the Great Wolf Lodge with my family. We love this place! At the moment, I’m sitting on the 3rd floor lobby watching people come and go as they MagiQuest. It easy to distinguish the happy ones from the sad ones. It’s in their eyes and posture, and in their voices. Some of them are obviously high on life. Others look like sad zombies, discouraged, purposeless, and bored with life. I think I might climb onto the coffee table and give a speech, because I definitely have the cure for boredom! Here it is..

Pursue a dream that gives God goose bumps!

In honor of her 40th birthday, Kristine K. Stevens sold her house, quit her job and traveled solo around the world. Carrying a backpack and the naïve belief that the trip was nothing more than a six-month-long vacation, she hit the road. As her journey moved on and off the beaten tourist path, she braved a monsoon in Zanzibar, a safari in Kenya, trekking in Nepal, kayaking in Thailand, caves in Laos, red plaid fish and lava in Hawaii, and grizzly bears in Alaska.

Kristine wrote a book about her adventure: If Your Dream Doesn’t Scare You, It Isn’t Big Enough: A Solo Journey Around the World

That’s a powerful statement! If your dream doesn’t scare you, it isn’t big enough. True!

And, if your dream doesn’t scare you, it bores God.

Imagine that you are God.

Imagine that you have omnipotent power, but seldom get to use it, because most people go after dreams they can reach without your help.

If you were God, you would search for the risk takers, and make them your friends.

Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” (Matthew 19:26 NLT) And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. (Hebrews 11:6 NLT)

Things that are impossible for you are very possible for God.

You get nervous, but He gets goose bumps!

He loves it when people say, “No way that can’t be done,” but one person has the guts to go for it!

Are you the gutsy one in your circle? If you’re not, then what are you waiting for?

Don’t live bored for your entire life, and get the the end, and look back with a hundred regrets.

Risk everything!

Experience the fear and wonder of climbing out on a limb.

Trust me, this is your chance to truly see what God can do. Because God’s ability is seen where your ability runs out. Think about this!

If you’re bored with life, dream until you’re scared!

Pursue a dream that gives God goose bumps.

Question: If you could do anything with your life, what would you do?

  1. Chuck I had a vision of starting up a children’s home here in Indianapolis and wanted so much to do this. I am from a home myself. The smoky mtn children’s home in Sevierville tn. My brothers 7 of us were there for about 3 yrs in the mid 60’s. Meant a lot to me and wondered how to get things started. This is definitely bigger than me.

    • John, I prayed for Indianapolis last month for several days in a row. God has His eyes on your city. I believe that your dream can be a reality. Write a full scale dream, and a plan for beginning. Then recruit a start up team and take the first steps together.
