Junkyard Treasure

Good Morning Friends!

Wow, I feel POWERFUL this morning… like I could raise my hand to the sky and all the birds of Stuarts Draft would gather, or I could refill my water bottle with a thought, or I could uproot my dead cherry tree with a prayer… and fling it to Greenville as a pile of nicely cut logs in Ricky Wades back yard!

I don’t always feel like this, but I do today! I suppose this is happening because of the things I’ve been meditating on the past 12 hours. One message from God can change everything! Like a mighty eagle, we spiritual creatures wait on the winds of a prevailing message… and we jump out of our nest to these thermal updrafts… and in a matter of minutes, we are LIFTED to the HEAVENS! 

Isaiah 40:29-31 He giveth POWER to the faint; and to them that have no might he INCREASETH strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But THEY THAT WAIT upon the LORD shall RENEW their strength; they shall MOUNT UP WITH WINGS as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

So you’re wondering about what I must be meditating on to be feeling so victorious at the moment? I can’t tell it all… not in this short blog… but I will do my best with a few paragraphs. 

In 2 Samuel 22, the Bible describes a TRANSITIONARY PHASE of Davids life AFTER he received a prophecy about becoming the next King of Israel… and AFTER he stunned the world with his defeat over Goliath the Giant… but BEFORE he was KING.

This period of TESTING had to feel like an eternity, even though it only lasted about 5 years… it was a PAINFUL TIME for young David. 

Just like David, we feel like our DREAMS should happen within weeks of concieving them! And God doesnt ussually tell us about the FIERY TRAILS we will travel through on our way to the THRONE OF DESTINY! 

1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, THINK IT NOT STRANGE concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though SOME STRANGE THING happened unto you:

James 1:2-4 My brethren, COUNT IT ALL JOY when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the TRYING OF YOUR FAITH worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that YE MAY BE PERFECT and entire, wanting nothing.

During Davids five year fiery trial, King Saul hunted him out of Jealousy… THE KING wanted David dead, and he did everything he could to kill INNOCENT David.

Can you imagine being David at this time? You have a prophecy riding over your life, that you are supposed to be the next ruler of your country… and you’re hiding in a cave because there is a price on your head!

We must be very careful not to misinterpret the seasons of our PROGRESSION. God is not harming us in these STRANGE times, he is preparing us to REIGN!

What really gets me excited is this: During these 5 years, the Bible explains how broken men gathered to David at the cave of Adulam (hundreds of them)… the men who would become the LEGENDARY MIGHTY MEN of King Davids legendary army!   

I guess what I’m getting at is this: We must never overlook the BLESSINGS we pick up in the STRANGEST TIMES of our lives!

Envisioning the Best Week of This Year!

It’s Monday!

Another new week… a whole new set of OPPORTUNITIES… a clean slate… a fresh start! This could be the week you… get a BIG raise at work, discover a new career, blast through a mountainous obstacle, make a new friend, break from a destructive pattern, cut off a destructive relationship, have the spiritual breakthrough of your life, help a miserable person receive the transformational breakthrough of their LIFE… THIS COULD BE THAT WEEK!

Hebrews 11:6 And without FAITH it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that HE EXISTS and that HE REWARDS those who earnestly seek him. 

This scripture contains the BEGINNING OF FAITH: to believe that God is a good and REWARDING kind of God. That he CARES and LOVES and wants the BEST for the ones who seek after him! I believe in this kind of God… and my God REWARDS me as I EARNESTLY SEEK HIM!

Life is not always easy and my life has its FAIR SHARE of adversity… but I am an overcomer because I believe that I am an OVERCOMER! 

The way we APPROACH our new weeks, makes ALL the difference. You can be like, blah, blah, blah it’s Monday ggrrrrrrrrr! Or, you can say, THANK GOD for last week… and THANK GOD for the SENSATION OF ADVENTURE I FEEL RIGHT NOW looking over the days ahead!

Are you EXPECTING a miracle THIS WEEK? Are you EXPECTING good things to happen… GREAT things to HAPPEN… for THIS WEEK to be the BEST WEEK of your year so far?

When we LOOK for destruction, we usually find it! When we look for success, we find SUCCESS! Whatever we think about all the time gets bigger and BIGGER and BIGGER. I want victory, so I think victory! I pray for victory FROM A STANCE OF VICTORY… believing that God is IN ME, WITH ME, and FOR ME… therefore NOTHING or NO-ONE in all this world can stop his beautiful plan for my life!

Today, we must choose NOT to focus on the miserable aspects of our current situations… but we SHOULD LOOK FOR THE BLESSINGS that ARE MOST DEFINITELY ALREADY HERE!

Pray with this anticipation and a SUPER BIG SMILE… think about HOW GREAT GOD IS and how much he LOVES YOU… all day long, live this day like a kid on Christmas morning… this is YOUR WEEK… this is MY WEEK TOO!

Believe bigger than you ever have before! See the whole world conspiring in YOUR FAVOR! As you head for victory… envision VICTORY COMING TO YOU! Believe in the God you are praying to… that HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN. Believe that HE IS MIGHTY TO SAVE… and that he CAN MOVE THE MOUNTAIN!

Or… you can do like almost everyone else does… and grumble through everything that comes your way! Instead of LIVING BY FAITH and CREATING YOUR WORLD BY FAITH and PRAYER, you can let life happen to you… and play the victim, AGAIN. Nut-huh, not me baby! I am a mighty CHAMPION and THIS IS MY WEEK! 

Hope this blog helps you off a better start than most Mondays! Sorry its late getting posted… LONG WEEKEND… little behind! LOL

Asking For Gods Courage

Happy Sunday Friends!

I heard this new song from Tim Hughes, “Give us Your Courage”… it’s a great song with a revival spirit. I pray that you guys wake up with great courage today! 

What a great idea! To pray for God’s courage… that He would impart to us HIS fearlessness… that we too may approach this day as God approaches every day! Oh that we could rise from our beds this morning with a God kind of faith… the kind that advances on nothing more than a vision! 

Let everything we do be powered with SPIRITUAL CONFIDENCE! Let us proceed without hesitation and be mighty without false humility. I pray for the spiritual FEELING of massive victory on each of you, my dear friends! Rise up with grace and peace and strength and wisdom… and unprecedented JOY! Be happy and SMILE BIG… all day long!  

Bring the world your very best THIS DAY and THIS WEEK! Now is the time for you and I to live in VICTORY. There is no time left for whimpering in dark rooms and wallowing around in yesterdays disappointments… this is the time to SHINE! 

So PRAY FOR GODS COURAGE TODAY! He never backs down… never gets scared… never submits to the fear tactics of his enemies! He is ALWAYS MIGHTY… and so are his children! 

Proverbs 28:1 The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as BOLD as a lion.

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and COURAGEOUS. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

That Spiritual ‘Feeling’ of Hope!

It’s Friday Everyone!

A beautiful morning… perhaps a SIGN of the BEST WEEKEND EVER! It feels ultra good in the spiritual realm today… I’ve just got this FEELING that something really good is going on that I don’t yet know about! Maybe I feel like this because it’s IN THE MAIL and ON ITS WAY INTO MY LIFE!

Do you ever get that FEELING that something good is trying to HAPPEN for you! When these sensations rise, they should be taken seriously… because I believe they are Gods way of JUMP STARTING our FAITH! 

Faith is the KEY that unlocks the DOOR to all the GOOD THINGS God has prepared for us. And since we’re not able to UNLOCK a door that we don’t know about… God GIVES US HOPE… he imparts to us a FEELING… and something RISES in us with the potential of CHANGING EVERYTHING!

Just to think that this time tomorrow… everything CAN be DIFFERENT! Just to think that God is ABLE to do a 24 hour miracle… that this mountain you face today CAN be GONE TOMORROW! Just to think like this… CHANGES EVERYTHING! 

2 Kings 7:1-2 Elisha replied, “Listen to this message from the Lord! This is what the Lord says: BY THIS TIME TOMORROW in the markets of Samaria, five quarts of choice flour will cost only one piece of silver, and ten quarts of barley grain will cost only one piece of silver.” The officer assisting the king said to the man of God, “That couldn’t happen even if the Lord opened the windows of heaven!” But Elisha replied, “You will see it happen with your own eyes, but you won’t be able to eat any of it!”

You have to be ABLE TO SEE IT… ABLE TO FEEL IT… ABLE TO HOPE FOR IT… in ORDER TO TASTE IT!

So… the next time you get that FEELING… go with it! Celebrate like you just won the MEGA MILLION JACKPOT! Consider that God may be ANNOUNCING a 24 hour miracle… and all he needs from you is the BELIEF that he CAN DO IT! 

Don’t be like the cynical officer in the 2 Kings story… don’t allow yourself to be emotionally dominated by the reality of your circumstances! God does miracles of epic proportions… you don’t have to know where they are coming from… just that God does have WINDOWS in HEAVEN and he has promised to OPEN THEM UP OVER YOUR LIFE! 

For me… I HAVE THIS FEELING THAT SOMETHING IS ON ITS WAY… and I’m going with that… I’m believing in a God that says NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR HE THAT BELIEVES!

How about you my dear friends? Are you all out of hope and sporting around a grouchy spirit of unbelief these days? Let it go… ask God to give you that SPIRITUAL FEELING… that BURST OF HOPE… that special something HE provides so that we can ATTACH our FAITH to his amazing promises.

Imagining Our Departure =)

Good Tuesday Everyone! 

I woke up this morning thinking about what it’s going to be like in that exact moment I cross over the threshold of time and eternity. Have you ever thought about this… I mean, really thought about this?

It’s pretty wild to IMAGINE how it will go down. Not how we will die or when we will die… but how a person actually exits this earth to enter into heaven.

I laid there in my bed… closed my eyes and ears in order to block off two of the physical senses God gave me for maintaining contact with this physical world. There in the darkness and in the quiet, I became increasingly attuned to the REAL ME… the SPIRIT PERSON inside of this curly headed pod everyone calls Chuck.   

With our five physical senses, we have access to this PHYSICAL world. Sometimes, these physical senses distract humans from accessing their spiritual self. This is why people usually close their eyes when kissing… to shut off the sight sense in order to heighten the feel sense, or to access the REAL PERSON inside of the physical body. 

As we leave this earth, we will peel off this human pod much like a butterfly breaks out of her cacoon. In that exact moment… our access to this physical world will slowly fade away… our senses will be turned off… and our human SPIRIT will step right out of its physical house and into eternity without missing a beat! 

2 Corinthians 5:6-9  So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as WE LIVE IN THESE BODIES we are not at home with the Lord. For we live by believing and not by seeing. (we are supposed to live like this) Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be AWAY from these earthly bodies, FOR THEN we will be at home with the Lord. So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though OUTWARDLY we are wasting away, yet INWARDLY we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is SEEN, but on what is UNSEEN. For what is seen is TEMPORARY, but what is unseen is ETERNAL.

There is more to life than meets eye… or the ear… or the nose… or the taste… or the feel. This earth is the environment for the human body. The human body is the medium through which the HUMAN SPIRIT has expression in this physical earth. And these are both temporary… they will not last forever. 

Life here on earth is temporal. Become more spiritual… more attuned to the REAL YOU… more aware of God. Walk with God… know him… love him… serve him… and enjoy him! Then in that day, when you shall cross over… it shall be no strange experience when the physical senses shall slowly fade away… and you are left with nothing except the REAL YOU… to break out into what is next! And what a glorious day this shall be for us all!
