Run Free & Stay Young!

Happy Saturday Friends!

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday… hope to see you at Destiny Family Center- 10am!

I just watched a video on Jonathan Woodard’s blogsite… and thought to share it with you guys! When I first experienced this video about six months ago, I remember thinking to myself, “How much of what I am doing every day is outdated and unproductive?”

The Bible is NEVER outdated… prayer is NEVER outdated… building the church is NEVER outdated… reaching unbelievers with salvation is NEVER outdated… but HOW we are going about our mission is always being challenged with our EVERY CHANGING SOCIETY!

Here… watch the video and I will be back with a few closing thoughts.

Riveting aye? I think so! It makes me wonder how much of my time each and every day is wasted attempting todays and tomorrows mission with yesterdays methods.

Sadly, our world is filled with so many protesters of change. There is a STRONG undercurrent of YESTERDAY always ripping the trailblazers down.

Jesus explained it like this in Luke 5, “No one tears a patch from a new garment and sews it on an old one. If he does, he will have torn the new garment, and the patch from the new will not match the old. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins.

If you want to make a BIG difference in tomorrows world… you’re going to have to stay clear of small minded people and paradigms. Yes, hold on to sound doctrine… never forsake the timeless message about Christ… hold tightly to the routines of prayer, devotion, and fellowship that keep you drawn NEAR to God! Just get away from anything that backs you into a corner… things that suppress creativity and consume your days in meaningless activities.

As Christians, we should have great concern over the spiritual state of todays world. We should SPEND much more of our time apart from the political bickering that keeps us FRUITLESS. We should be walking by FAITH and LIVING by FAITH… INNOVATING the quantum leap concepts that will lead to the modern evangelization of this empty society.

Our message is FAR TOO AMAZING to be so UNAPPEALING in this world of broken people!

I believe that God has a BEAUTIFUL PLAN for this generation! And I’m determined to keep pressing into it, not swayed in the least by the dangerous undercurrents of yesterday.

We are trailblazers my dear bloggers! Stay fresh… run free and stay young… reach in to the love and mercy of God that so easily snaps the choke chains of fear and judgment… and don’t get distracted for more than a week or two. We are the church of tomorrow… and no matter how things look today… we can still emerge as the FINEST CHURCH TO EVER GRACE THIS EARTH!

I pray that todays blog acts as a catalyst of change in your amazing lives! I pray that my dear bloggers will clearly identify those distractions that keep them going backwards… and they choose to reclaim their destinies in Christ! Have a tremendous Easter everyone!! Love you all!

Is Judgement Coming?

Good Morning Blog Family!

You guessed it… I’m reading in the book of Isaiah this morning. Don’t worry, I’ve already considered how the word judgment is not a tolerated subject in today’s world. Over the past 100 years, we have convinced ourselves that a loving God never judges. And because of this wide spread belief, our society heaps sin upon sin without fear of consequence.

History: Right after the death of King Solomon, Israel divided into two kingdoms. The northern kingdom “Israel” and the southern kingdom “Judah.” The capitol of Israel was the city of Samaria and the capitol of Judah was the city of Jerusalem. Because Solomons Temple was located in the city of Jerusalem, most of the priests and other worshipers of God left the northern kingdom of Israel and relocated in the southern kingdom of Judah. Israel then created their own places of worship and started up the worship of other gods.

Because of this worship of foreign gods, the northern kingdom came under Gods judgement much faster then the southern kingdom. Israel went into captivity first… and then over time, Judah followed Israels ways and met Israels fate. Isaiah, was a prophet to the southern Kingdom during the time that the nothern kingdom was heading into captivity… and he spoke to Judah warning them not to follow the ways of the nothern kingdom. He warned Judah that they were becoming sinful and they were heaping judgement on their land. Read these stunning messages from Isaiah to the nation of Judah…

Human pride will be brought down,
and human arrogance will be humbled.
Only the Lord will be exalted
on that day of judgment. (Isaiah 2:11)

For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies
      has a day of reckoning.
He will punish the proud and mighty
and bring down everything that is exalted. (Isaiah 2:12)

The very look on their faces gives them away.
They display their sin like the people of Sodom
and don’t even try to hide it.
   They are doomed!
They have brought destruction upon themselves. (Isaiah 3:9)

Destruction is certain for those who say
that evil is good and good is evil,
that dark is light and light is dark,
that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter. (Isaiah 5:20)

From this, we see that judgement is a neccessary component of Gods justice, PURIFYING DECAYED SOCIETIES. Every so often, we humans get so far out of control… so broken beyond repair… that we necessitate a day of reckoning. God lovingly warns us for many years to turn away from the path of certain devastation… and in our pride we refuse his prophets. Eventually, Gods justice makes its final demand… and we are humbled.

I have to wonder, whats ahead for America if we keep racing down this FAR LEFT pathway we have chosen.

Sorry for laying such a solemn message on your guys today… it came to me, so I wrote it. This is not my ussual happy message of the day… but it seems to be a message from the Lord. It certainly has the power to change our lives for the good! Let’s all reflect on these verses from Isaiah today and figure out what kind of decaying effect our darkening society has had on us. Let us chose to follow hard after God in a day when that is not the popular thing to do!

I love you guys and I am praying for you this morning… have a SUPER AMAZING DAY! See you tomorrow!

Help! My Creativity is Hibernating…

Creativity Sleeping

Creativity Sleeping

Good Morning Everyone!

Wow, I woke up early today as usual… did my extravagant Bible reading routine… tried to have an extravagant prayer time… opened a blank blog page to start writing today’s exciting message… and realized that my creativity was still asleep! I mean, this is so scary… even with all the amazing things I read this morning and all the eventful things happening in my life these days… I am BLANK!

This only happens to me about once every few months… and I hate it! So, what now? Should I just come to grips with the fact that I may have to be like this until my creativity decides to come out of hibernation?

Why does our creativity just disappear on us like this… and in the moments we need to be most creative, we draw big fat blanksLet’s look at my current creativity crises and see if we can work through this together. Yesterday was the suckiest day I’ve had for a while. All day long, one wierd circumstance after another… and Mondays are supposed to be my day of rest. Wait a minute… maybe this slump started before yesterday and I’m just now beginning to recognize it. On Sat night, apparently some vandals started a fire on our church property and burned a neighbors storage shed down… and that’s stressful! The only reason we have a church here in this community is to be a blessing… and when something like this happens it breaks my heart.

Church was ok on Sunday and Bible College was fair as well… I felt only slightly off my game. And then yesterday! Had a bad writing day… I think I ended up with minus 2 pages by nightfall! We went to dinner to pray over a church family’s business… and my prayer line felt like it had been DISCONNECTED! Ever been there?

Kent Henry (www.kenthenry.com) taught me years ago, that creativity killer number one is VOJ (the Voice of Judgement). When we feel like harmed our neighbors and they might not be thinking happy thoughts towards us, or we are carrying the guilt of some past sin, or we’re not happy with a few of our recent performances… these become the VOJ that chases our creativity into hibernation.

The happy part of this story is that we can rise above this at will! The Bible says in Romans 8:1, “There is therefore NO CONDEMNATION to those who are in Christ!” So right now, I SILENCE the VOJ over my life. I chose to spend the rest of my day soaring above the fear of people, self condemnation, and anything else that tries to sedate my creativity!

So, good morning CREATIVITY… RISE AND SHINE… get up sleepy head… its a beautiful day and you’re not going to spend it locked up in a dark room! (I know I’m so weird sometimes… but its fun… and it works!) I’m feeling better already!

Once I post this blog, I’m going to pray for all you guys to awaken your creativity just like I awoken mine. Have a super day… and don’t forget to be thankfull for 167 things before you go to bed tonight!
