The Mighty Force of a Parents Influence!

Happy Friday!

Had a super day at the beach yesterday. Was ahead 14 to 2 in a horseshoes game… ended up losing. Since our opponents were Emily’s brothers Jeff and Wayne (two of the MOUTHIEST boys of the South)… losing that game was the biggest stress of my vacation day!

That’s ok… today is rematch day and I’m gonna make those Wall boys wish they had finished vacation a day early! Yes, I’m talkin trash… just a bunch of wind… not very confident in my ability to even things up… PLEASE pray for me… you JUST DON’T KNOW what it’s like to LOSE anything to these guys! lol

On a more spiritual note… I got to spend a really good hour with Coree yesterday evening! It was a QUALITY father son conversation… started out discussing a book I’m reading… and the conversation drifted to the subject of reaching people for Christ and growing a youth ministry. I was shocked at the brilliance of Coree’s ideas! It was obvious to me that he had been thinking this through for much longer than anyone could have known.

I’ve been so BLESSED this vacation to see how BEAUTIFUL all these family kids are turning out. Elizabeth, Timothy, Kelsey, Sarah, Jamie, Victoria, Christopher… and the others who are not here. They each have such an amazing personality… they love and they care… they smile and they laugh… they adore their parents and their grandparents and their aunts and uncles.

Raising kids can be so stressful at times. We parents get all flustered about how our kids are turning out. Every few years, they go crazy, leaving us to wonder if they are going to stray down some dark path to never return.

Since I now have an 18-year-old son and an ALMOST 17-year-old daughter, I know these fears all too well. Yet, I know the faithfulness of God…

Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Psalm 145:13 For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The Lord ALWAYS KEEPS HIS PROMISES; he is gracious in all he does.

A PARENTS INFLUENCE is a MIGHTY FORCE! Our kids look up to us more then we know… they value our opinions… they want to see life through the fundamental paradigm we give them. This is what it means to TRAIN a child in the WAY he should go.

Through modeling, and intentional training, we show our children the WAY they SHOULD go… and by FAITH, we leave the rest up to God. Because I’m far from being a perfect parent, I rely on God’s grace to make up the difference… and believe me, it REALLY does!

Today, I want to thank God for helping us raise good children. As mine walk over the threshold into adulthood… I can SEE THAT GOD HAS KEPT HIS PROMISE! We are all so far from being perfect… but there is certain EVIDENCE of God’s HELP.

Maybe your kid is in a crazy phase… just hold on and keep praying… things WILL TURN AROUND FOR YOU! If you’re a young parent… be INTENTIONAL about modeling and training your young ones… for they are your LEGACY! Invest in them! Give them everything you have to give… and RELY ON GOD TO DO THE REST!

I hope today’s blog adds tremendous value to your amazing lives!

Leadership: Adding Value To Others

mentorHappy Thursday Friends!

Emily and I are in Clemmons NC at a Leadership Conference… day one was outstanding! Looking forward to day 2!

I’m actually writing this blog from my hotel room… it’s 7:15 pm on Wed night right now. Yes, I am watching the Destiny Family Center LIVE webcast! It’s such a blessing for us to experience first hand what our internet congregation gets to experience every week. It creates the desire to make the broadcast so much better…

Our team is hanging with the lead team from Bethel Harvest Church… loving every minute of our sweet fellowship! My very dear friend Pastor Marion Dalton arrives tomorrow to join his wife Stephanie… they are amazing people and amazing leaders! Check out their website… and if you’re ever passing through Lexington KY, experience their great church first hand!

Let me leave you guys with a thought from the conference: Leadership is the stewardship of those people God has entrusted to us!

Each of us is responsible for the beautiful people God has ENTRUSTED TO US! God carefully places specific people under our care because He KNOWS things about us that we don’t even know about ourselves… He KNOWS that there is something IN US that He wants to GET INTO OTHERS! We may not feel like this is true… we may not feel like we have anything to give… and we may be tempted to politely decline this calling to lead. And if we bury our talent in the ground instead of investing it into others, we will most certainly come to the end of our lives without SUCCESSION. You see… responsible leadership is the ONLY GATEWAY to certain LEGACY! And unless we lead, our accumulated greatness dies IN US and WITH US.

Jesus was the master of succession because he was the master of leadership, capitalizing on every opportunity to ADD VALUE to his disciples. Read through Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John… and you will see that Jesus invested REAL TIME COACHING into those his Father had ENTRUSTED into his care! In THREE years, He turned a group of misfits into distinguished makers of history! This phenomena was not a glorious accident… it was the result of leadership mastery!

During this conference session, I found myself thinking about all the people GOD has ENTRUSTED to MY CARE! I accepted the very profound reality that GOD has planted these special people under MY CARE because I HAVE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL that I AM SUPPOSED TO INVEST in them! It starts with my kids… Coree and Heaven. I want to go back home and INVEST more REAL TIME COACHING into their beautiful lives! Then, on to our close friends, our leadership team, and every beautiful person God draws to the super church I’ve been APPOINTED and ANOINTED to lead!

Simply put, each of us must accept our unique calling to lead the people God draws into our lives. Everyone can and everyone should be leading someone! We should make it one of our HIGHEST AIMS in life to ADD VALUE to others! This is the Great Commission as delivered by Jesus when he said, “Go ye into all the world and MAKE DISCIPLES…”

Have a super day you guys… I just finished praying a powerful prayer over every chuckslife blogger! As you go through your day… do some people watching. Try to IDENTIFY the special people God has ENTRUSTED into your care! Then, take a deep breath and jump head first into the amazing life of adding great value to others!! I’ll chat with everyone later…

Chapter 2: The Great Hope of Tomorrow

Long after our last breath, a generation yet to live will look back into this hour. Hurry up! Catch my hand, and together we will rush back to the very place I’ve been spending so much of my time lately. Mentally, I’m asking you to imagine that we’ve been translated into the future. As you look around at the people, you can’t avoid the exactness in their genetic features with yours, and you’re overtaken with the reality that these are your descendants. For ten seconds, the sheer awe of this mystifying experience leaves you panting. Tingling all over, you wipe your eyes to make sure you don’t miss anything… your curiosity has never been this out of control!

Not knowing how much longer this will last, you’re mind is engulfed with a few startling curiosities. Right now, you must know, “What kind of world are my precious babies living in? Is it a better world, marinated in love and peace, or an unstable one steeped in hatred and deep turmoil? Are they smiling or frowning; laughing or crying; living or dying?” As they look back over their tiny little shoulders at you and me, are they gazing with gratitude or glaring in bitterness? Who are they admiring for their advantages? Where are they pointing the finger for their privations? Have you ever given yourself a few hours to eyeball our future in this sort of way?

One thing is for sure. Your name may never find its way into their history books, but every slightest move you and I make during our short span of time here on earth is creating the world of tomorrow. Clearly, the cowardly bystanders are never held in remembrance. History consistently honors those selfless pioneers who voluntarily forward vast segments of their personal pleasure into their future… the heroes who live and labor for dreams they never even realize in their life span! These are the real champions of our civilization.

Ok, there it is… the first three paragraphs of chapter two. Today, I am working on page 207… and beyond! Thanks for all your prayers and support during this very long journey! Remember that our goal for this blog site is to recruite thousands of regular blog pals, so that when the book is released, we will already have a national network ready to consume it! Please help us grow… call your friends… email them… go door to door… begging everyone you meet hang out at www.chuckbalsamo.com EVERY day! Until tomorrow… I just finished praying for you guys to have another outstanding week! We love you all so very much… God bless you!!
