Happy Sunday!

It’s early, I’m here in my office (my usual early morning routine), praying over my notes for this mornings service @ Destiny Family Center… animated with anticipation! Life has never been this good for me!

Soaring high

Sure, there are a few situations I would fix right now if I could, but I’m POSITIVE God is working on all of those things… and my FAITH has never been SOARING THIS HIGH! My life has never been this SOLID… never been this FIRM on the foundation of God living word!

Its more than a fad

Way back in 1991, when I first dedicated my whole heart and life to Jesus… almost everyone assumed that GOD was a phase I was going through… a new fad, like bowling, or skateboarding, or skiing, etc. And here I am 19 years later… more in LOVE with God than EVER?

God has never let me down

God has been so faithful to me… even when I was not so faithful to him! He carried me on his wings during those times when I could not go on another day! He’s defended me ten thousand times! Every time the enemy came in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord has risen a standard against him, and every tongue that’s been risen against me HAS BEEN CAST DOWN!

Isaiah 54:17 But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!

There is a fire

God has spoken to me through his written word and his indwelling Spirit, 10 times a day for 19 years: that’s 69,350 times!!

I KNOW HIM! I know how much he loves me! I know how well he can be trusted to keep EVERY COVENANT PROMISE! When I do my part, he ALWAYS does his! Even when I fail to do my part… his MERCY still gives me the things I do not deserve!

His fire is burning white hot within me this morning… this flame of love between God and me! And this fire is not a passing flash from my youthful zeal… it’s a zeal based in knowledge and experience… not an emotional sensation, but a spiritual POSITION! Get what I’m saying? I know you do! (smile)

Psalm 70:4 But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, “God is great!”

Psalm 106:1-2 Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise half enough?

This is the way I feel today! Like I cannot praise my heavenly Father half enough! I want to just keep shouting… all day long until I lose my voice, “God is great! God is great! God is great!”

Happy Sunday everyone… I do hope this blog will help you get your praise on! May today be a day of great celebration. For every ONE thing going wrong there are thousands of things going right for you and me! Who can ever praise him HALF ENOUGH for all he’s done and doing and going to do in our lives!

Don’t Ever Let the Cheering Stop

Good Palm Sunday Friends,

I’m praying for each of you to wake with a great reality of the beauty of Jesus today. Palm Sunday is about recognizing Jesus as so much more than a great teacher… to see him as KING and LORD.

Until Palm Sunday… the crowds didn’t really know for sure who Jesus was. Approaching the Passover Feast, riding on a donkey, and heading for Jerusalem… it was all the crowds needed to detonate an eruption of praise… the celebration of a lifetime! They all went crazy as they wondered… could this be the deliverer, the King predicted by our prophets? Surely, this miracle worker had to be the Messiah!

The problem with Palm Sunday is how quickly the cheering stopped! Yeah, when the people realized that Jesus was not going to overthrow the Roman Empire… and they could not understand that the Kingdom Jesus was building was an eternal Kingdom… they no longer wanted him to be the one who fulfilled their prophecies.

Why are we cheering for Jesus today? Is it because we think that he is going to do everything we ask him to do for us exactly the way that we ask for him to do it? Or, will our cheering go far beyond Palm Sunday… into the Garden of Gethsemane… to the cross… into the grave… and onto the REAL LIFE God has for each of us? 

I want to CHEER for a King whose kingdom is not of this world. I want to CHEER for a King who overthrows the sins of my own heart… a King who calls on me to pick up my own cross and FOLLOW HIM wherever he may lead! I want to CHEER for Jesus today, because he overthrew the KINGDOM OF DARKNESS and freed me from the tyranny of Satan. 

“Father, please don’t let me be like the Jews of that first Palm Sunday. Let my heart rejoice in you because of WHO you are, instead of what I perceive that you may be doing for me. May my praise go so much deeper than the temporal blessings you bring into this short life… and may I be able to praise you because YOU ARE THE PASSOVER LAMB… YOU ARE THE KING OF AN ETERNAL KINGDOM… YOU ARE THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD! 

Please, give me a praise that transcends circumstance… and may I not be hindered from being able to express my awe of your truest beauty! I love you Father… thanking you this day for sending Jesus, your son into this earth to give his life as a ransom payment for my sins… and the sins of the world! Please help me to praise you even when life doesn’t go the way I want it to… please don’t ever let my cheering stop. May I praise you all the way to the cross… and far beyond… again and again throughout the rest of my life!

I give myself to you anew this Palm Sunday… overwhelm me right here in my office… overwhelm all my bloggers… overwhelm the beautiful people of Destiny Family Center… overwhelm my wife and kids… overwhelm my family as they grieve the loss of my Uncle Tuff! This is my prayer… in Jesus name amen!”

I’m flying to Atlanta this morning for a one day conference… will be back tomorrow night. Since tomorrow’s blog will be sent from my iphone, it may be a little shorter than usual… but it will be powerful… and I will try to post photos from the trip if I can figure out HOW to do that! A dear friend of mine is speaking at Destiny Family Center in my absence… so don’t miss the midweek BOOSTER service tonight at 7pm! Come on, admit it… you NEED a SPIRITUAL FIX and you need it TONIGHT!

Today’s Inspirational Thought: Praise and worship God with a friend EVERY day of your life!

Living in this crazy dark world can be a real bummer at times. That’s why we need to spend focused time EVERY day making sure that God is STILL BIGGER than our circumstances. Yes, I know that God is never bigger or littler than he always is. I’m talking about our perception of Him. And this perception can mean the difference between victory and defeat.

When God is BIG in our minds… our trials become equivalently smaller! We will never have a BIG GOD and a BIG DEVIL at the same time! Whenever we magnify our problems, we minimize Gods ability to solve our problems. When we magnify God, we magnify his power in our lives… and we simultaneously minimize the size of our problems!

I have found that MAGNIFYING GOD is always easier, when we have a worshiping partner… a fellow praiser! This can be a spouse, child, parent, neighbor, church friend, co-worker, and anyone else we come in contact with throughout our weeks! Instead of complaining in the break room about the injustices of life with the rest of the disgruntled folks in your company, you’re on a mission for a few HAPPY PEOPLE! You’re searching for someone who will HELP YOU GET YOUR PRAISE ON EVERY SINGLE DAY OF YOUR LIFE!

Take the time to declare your intensions to these folks… explain how you want them to help you celebrate God for the good things even in the darkest moments! Make a reciprocating commitment to be on their celebration delegation… and watch how FAST IRON WILL SHARPEN IRON! Watch how all your current problems will go from BIG… to small… to tiny… to tiny-er… to non existent! Watch how much happier you will live each day… and how you will thrive and succeed. Don’t ever underestimate the POWER OF MAGNIFYING GOD!

Psalm 34:2-4 KJV “My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

In the Face Of Certain Death…

Good Monday Morning Everyone!

Church and Bible College were both amazing yesterday… even though there were so many people out under the weather. I am praying over my region this morning… that healing will come for every household! The effectual, fervent pray of a righteous man avails much… the power of prayer is still the most powerful force in the universe! We should use it far more often then most people do these days. We should MOVE MOUNTAINS and MAKE MIRACLES HAPPEN!

I want to share something BEAUTIFUL that I picked up in Psalm 116:1-13 this morning! You’re going to LOVE IT!

“1 I love the LORD because he hears and answers my prayers. 2 Because he bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I have breath! 3 Death had its hands around my throat; the terrors of the grave overtook me. I saw only trouble and sorrow. 4 Then I called on the name of the LORD: “Please, LORD, save me!” 5 How kind the LORD is! How good he is! So merciful, this God of ours! 6 The LORD protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and then he saved me. 7 Now I can rest again, for the LORD has been so good to me. 8 He has saved me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. 9 And so I walk in the Lord’s presence as I live here on earth! 10 I believed in you, so I prayed, “I am deeply troubled, LORD.” 11 In my anxiety I cried out to you, “These people are all liars!” 12 What can I offer the LORD for all he has done for me? 13 I will lift up a cup symbolizing his salvation; I will praise the LORD’s name for saving me.”

God is a great deliverer… he bends down to listen when we cry! He hears and ANSWERS our prayers! He rescues us from moments of certain death… and in essence, he BRINGS US BACK FROM THE DEAD! From this we learn that no situation is far too gone for God’s miraculous abilities! Just when everyone else has counted us out… God breaks the skies and saves the day!

Do you need to be saved from an impossible situation today? Does death have its hands around your throat this morning? Are the terrors of the grave overtaking you these days? Then pray with faith knowing that God will BEND DOWN AND LISTEN to your CRY. Have confidence that HE WILL DELIVER YOU from every evil thing! Have you been saved from certain death already… maybe a hundred times throughout your days? Then PRAISE HIM MOST EXTRAVEGANTLY for SAVING YOU… over and over, he is good to you and me!
