Last night I was watching an LMN movie with my wife, just before we went to bed (ok, so I admit this). During a commercial, Emily looked over at me with the prettiest smile of her life and said, “You’re a good husband Charlie. I love you.”
Then before I could say anything back to her, she gazed into my eyes like she wasn’t finished, and she said, “I’m SO happy I married you. You make me happy. Thank you for giving me a good life.”
Of course, I never feel like I’m a good enough husband because I always want to become so much better. Emily deserves the moon if she wants it. She is an amazing person, way out of my league, a blessing I never deserved. After 20.5 years, I’m still crazy about her just as I was when we first dated at 15 and 13.
Besides my relationship with God, my family is everything to me. I want Emily to lay her head down every night with a carefree smile-because she is loved like few women in the world. I want her to lack nothing because she has everything-the completeness of God’s love and mine! I want my kids to wake up every morning and charge into their future with the confidence of their fathers love. I never want them to doubt it, even when we are disagreeing about something.
Love makes the difference. One moment like that one last night can break the strongest chains!
We can’t even predict what a person is going to become until they are truly loved. And sadly, so many are not.
Today, I am praying for every person I know… that you will fully experience this kind of love-God’s love, and the sincere love of another human.
Last night, something very big happened in my heart when Emily said those things to me. She changed my life in thirty-seconds! That’s the power of LOVE.
If you are loveless at the moment, don’t let this blog discourage you. Dream. Believe. Don’t let your past become the paradigm for your future. Get a new lens, venture on a new quest-the quest for love. Start with God’s love. Stop holding back, get closer to Him than you’ve even been before. God is defined as LOVE.
Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. (1 John 4:7-12 NLT)
My wife would not know LOVE if she did not know God. Here is a great song for this topic! Brandon Heath, Your Love.
Do you need to be far more positively effected with God’s love today? Draw near to God and He will draw near to you! (James 4:8)
Is there a person your circle who needs your love today? Stop holding back! Emily has been a good wife to me, she’s always made me feel loved… but there was something very special about how she said it last night. Does this make sense?
Express your LOVE extravagantly! You really do possess the power to change somebody’s life in 30 seconds. There are people in your reach who are desperate for LOVE-more desperate than it might seem. Please, hurry up and do it. Just like John said, “No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.”
I’m praying for you. Have a beautiful day. With much love…
